Angelina Jolie is devising a plan to go after more of Brad Pitt's money than she would normally be entitled to since the couple was only married for a very short period of the time they were together.
According to our sources, Jolie is considering filing a palimony lawsuit against Pitt in order to go after the money he earned during their entire relationship.
Jolie and Pitt first got together in 2005 but only officially got married in 2014 ... meaning only the money and assets from their wedding on August 14, 2014 through their split on September 15, 2016 would normally be in play.
We're told Jolie would file a Marvin claim, which gets its name from a court battle involving actor Lee Marvin. The claim would allow Jolie to argue that everything both parties made during the course of their entire relationship should be designated community property.
California does not recognize common-law marriage, so Jolie would have to file a separate civil claim.
According to various reports, Pitt's net worth is $240 million while Jolie's is $160 million.
The two sides have been having a very public battle in court this week over finances.
Angelina Jolie's legal team fired the first shot on Tuesday when they filed documents in their divorce case accusing Brad Pitt of not paying child support. A lawyer for Jolie alleged that Pitt “has a duty to pay child support. As of present, [Pitt] has paid no meaningful child support since separation.”
Pitt fired back on Wednesday when he said in court documents that he "adamantly disputes the contention that he has not paid significant child support.”
He claims that he loaned Jolie $8 million to “assist in her purchasing her current residence” and has paid over $1.3 million in “bills for the benefit of [Jolie] and the kids.”
