During the hearing, Judge Barbara Wilson told Busto to stay away from Barrymore and her properties and ordered him to be fitted with a GPS tag. Busto testified in court that he’s currently broke and plans to move into a shelter. His stalking charges are not a bail-qualifying offense.
Busto’s next court appearance regarding the Southampton trespass is on September 12th. He spoke to the Daily Mail about his interest in Barrymore and said they met several years ago. Busto said he had hopes that he and the actress would build a romantic relationship.
He Was Arrested At Drew Barrymore’s Farmhouse
Busto’s arrest at Barrymore’s Southampton home happened Wednesday after a 911 call reported a suspicious person going around. He reportedly “walked onto some steps outside” the “Ever After” actress farmhouse.
When police arrived at Barrymore’s home and arrested Busto, he was let go and then rearrested on Thursday. A source close to the talk show host confirmed to the Daily Mail that Barrymore wasn’t home when Busto arrived. They added that she’s in a good mood and won’t let the incident affect her life.
The source said, “She is not going to change the way she runs her life and protects herself, all those things are and have been set for her during her entire life, and she doesn’t want anyone to worry about her wellbeing.”
Chad Michael Busto Has A Lengthy Criminal History
A report by the Santa Monica Daily Press has revealed Busto’s “long criminal history.” He’s reportedly been arrested in multiple states, including Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, for trespassing, disorderly conduct, and other crimes.
During his Friday hearing, Busto himself mentioned he has an upcoming federal hearing in Texas. He asked the judge if his GPS tag would prevent him from traveling out of state for the trial. However, he provided no further details about the offense.
Several users have posted on social media that Busto has a history of stalking female celebrities, including actress Amber Heard. According to the Daily Beast, one user claimed that a person named “C. Michael Busto” was expelled from a Facebook fan group for Heard because of stalking and sexual harassment.

Busto’s arrest at the Southampton property comes two days after he was arrested at one of Barrymore’s events in New York. The “50 First Dates” actress was having a panel session with actress and singer Reneé Rapp.
A TikTok video of Busto’s entrance went viral on social media, showing him introducing himself as “Chad Michael Busto.” He then said, “You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.” Rapp quickly identified the risk, stepped between them, and immediately took Barrymore off the stage.
Busto was then escorted away from the stage by two security guards but wasn’t arrested at the time. When Barrymore and Rapp returned to the stage, they spoke about the incident. Barrymore told Rapp her protection was sexy and called her “my Kevin Costner!’
A source told the Daily Mail that the “Blended” actress didn’t want to make the event about her. They said, “So she forgot about it as soon as it was over, and she continued talking to Renee and reverted the attention back to the conversation, that is what was important for Drew.”
