The famed hotel that inspired Stephen King‘s “The Shining” was the setting for another scary situation when a black bear wandered into the lobby and stood on a table.
The front desk supervisor was the lone employee at The Stanley hotel Thursday night in Colorado when a bear figured out how to open the door to the hotel. Luckily, the 300 guests at the hotel were fast asleep and the bear only stayed a minute or two before finding his way out.
The Stanley inspired the famous 1980 horror movie starring Jack Nicholson after King and his wife stayed at the hotel for a night while passing through the Rocky Mountains.
In case you’re wondering, the bear did not stop by room 217.
