Veronica Shaw, also known on social media as Chef Pii, has made waves with her viral TikTok pink sauce in the past and new waves are now rolling in.
From confusion on ingredients, how it was being made and shipped, and other questions last year, to now claiming that the company she partnered with to get her product on store shelves is not paying her. Shaw recently set up a GoFundMe with her story in the hopes that people will help her get back on her feet.
Veronica Shaw, Or Chef Pii, Claims She's Not Being Paid For Her Pink Sauce Sales
Shaw recently shared her story on a GoFundMe page that she organized in the hopes that people will help her through her dilemma.
"Hi, my name is Veronica Shaw, I am the founder of The Pink Sauce LLC. one of the most viral sauce sensations of 2022. As a young entrepreneur with big dreams, I followed my intuition and went forth toward my dreams to create something new. I made a few mistakes on the way. Which lead me to trust a company that is trying to take everything away from me. They lied to me. They are not paying me and are not being transparent about records," she wrote on her GoFundMe page.
Her story continues by explaining that she's tried multiple times to get the company she partnered with to reimburse her for "marketing expenses that I spent my own funds towards."
"I have been silenced and financially sabotaged. I am a single mom and I do everything for my kids. Right now I don't even have enough money to buy my kids food on my own. My mom is on disability and has been giving us $20 just to get by on a daily basis. School is a few days away I haven't been able to get my kids clothes or anything. I am currently facing an eviction that has gone into default the sheriffs can come to my door any day now. I need legal help. They are refusing to pay me the royalty that is owed to me. I don't know what else to do. I can't give up. I need help."
She placed her goal at a hefty $100,000. Since starting the page a week ago, she's raised $851 with 55 donations. A few people have left her comments on the page.
Her top donor, who donated $100, wrote, "Everyone makes mistakes. It’s important to learn from them and you don’t have to suffer because of them and your children don’t either!"
One person who donated wrote, "Karma sucks huh?. . . Be humble."
Veronica Shaw's Pink Sauce Went Viral Last Year On TikTok But Dealt With Issues
When the pink sauce first gained social media attention, there were concerns. Many wanted to know why the color fluctuated from one video to the next, and others questioned the shipping process since it needed to be refrigerated. And then there was some confusion with the label information not adding up.
Shaw eventually shared an apology in a video to clear up some of the confusion.
"We have a team. Things happen. The grams got mixed up with the serving size. There’s 444 grams of Pink Sauce inside of each container. It’s about 30 servings per container. It was a mistake. We fixed the issue. You guys will not be receiving Pink Sauce bottles with the bad labels," she explained.
She also explained that she's following FDA standards and her product is being lab tested.
"So once we go through lab testing, we will be able to pitch to stores to put the Pink Sauce in stores, and we’re so excited about that," she explained.
Shaw eventually partnered with a company to help her get her product on store shelves, and all seemed well until her recent announcement about not being paid.
Many of Shaw's TikTok videos about the pink sauce went viral as she shares her journey with her 244,000 followers.
