Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez Finally Settle Divorce After Over 8 Years

Halle Berryand Olivier Martinezhave finally settled their ongoing divorce after battling over it for eight years.

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the 'Deadpool 3' actress signed an agreement to settle ongoing issues with her ex-husband -- something they hashed out in private.

The agreement's existence was listed in their ongoing divorce case in Los Angeles County Courts, but no specifics were mentioned. "The parties have a written agreement that will be submitted to the court, or a stipulation for judgment will be submitted to the court and attached to Judgment," the filing states.

It's a breath of fresh air, considering these two have been in court for over 8 years fighting over issues like money and custody of their son.

As we said, the specifics of the agreement were not filed in open court and might remain private.

Back in April, we broke the story that the former couple had agreed to settle their differences outside the court with a private judge. It's quite common amongst the biggest A-list celebrities, like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who recently used a private judge to resolve their issues.

In 2015, Halle and Olivier announced their divorce, saying in a joint statement, "We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son." But, the former couple filed dueling divorce papers and disagreed on spousal support. In Halle's papers, she asked for no spousal support for either party. Also, she claimed the ex-couple had a prenuptial agreement that outlined the costs and payments associated with the support of their son.

The good news is they both agreed to share joint custody of their child, saying, they will, "share custody as is in the best interest of the child."

According to sources, the couple's split was partly caused by disagreements over their living situation. At the time, Berry planned on raising her two children in Europe but was never able to make the move due to problems with her daughter's father, Gabriel Aubry.

Halle Berry has since moved on and is currently dating Van Hunt. The musician recently posted a nice message on social media celebrating the actress's birthday, alongside a picture of her in face paint.

He wrote:

"This is the woman i love

behind the mask

she makes me laugh til i hurt

i see her behind the mask

i always have

happy bday, my love"

Halle responded to the message, saying, "Thank you Van for always letting me be ME and loving me anyway!"

It should be noted, the actress addressed the divorce situation in an interview with Woman's Health, saying, "I’m a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn’t serve me and didn’t make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman." She continued, "I just feel fulfilled; I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist."
