Salma Hayek is the dream girl of many. At 56, she has a body and face to die for and her fanbase simply keeps growing. Recently though, she recalled how her first kiss turned from a romantic dream into a near nightmare, and it shows people how "sweet" Hayek truly is.
Salma Hayek First Kiss Was All HONEY Before Disaster Struck
Salma Hayek recently had a chat with “W Magazine” speaking about how far she’s come in Hollywood and how, she’s overcome some of her fears as well, starring in “Black Mirror.”
She recalled her first kiss, which was memorable, for more than just romantic reasons. Her first kiss happened in Coatzacoalcos, Hayek’s “little town” in Mexico and the “Eternals” actress recalls, “I wanted to taste good, so I kept putting honey on my lips. And then I said, ‘What did it taste like?’ And he said, ‘Like honey.’”
This could have been the perfect kiss story, had Hayek not fallen into a literal honey trap. She continued, “Now but it's the cliché—that's what they say. And so I kept putting honey [on] my lips, and I had an infestation of ants in my bedroom.”
Given that ants love honey and are not averse to sampling human flesh, especially if it’s as luscious as Salma Hayek’s lips, they basically crawled all over her and bit her on the lips. Said the 56-year-old, “I burnt my mouth. Something that started [really] romantic turned out to be kind of disastrous.”
She also added, cheekily, “In Mexico, we eat ant eggs fried in a special way. But live ants, it's a whole different thing.”
All Hayek deserves is some sun, water, and love, no?

Overcoming Her Fear Of Snakes & Horror Movies
The one thing we’ve not seen Hayek do is horror movies, and the reason is simple. Said the actress, “I get really scared of anything horror. I don’t watch, because then I don’t sleep.”
So when she was offered “Black Mirror” Hayek had to pull up her socks and watch some of the dystopian episodes. After she discovered that she liked the show, she finally said yes and her set is somewhat of a meta storyline. Hayek plays a version of herself, an actor playing an AI-written version of a character, essayed by “Schitt’s Creek” star, Annie Murphy.
It premiered on Netflix on June 15th and in a surprisingly ironical move, Hollywood itself came to a grinding because of the SAG-AFTRA strike that also hopes to address the looming horrors of AI in real life.
Of course, this was hardly the first time Hayek had to conquer her fears because of work, given her small but iconic role in “From Dusk Till Dawn.”
Hayek recalls that it was a very small part and all she had to do was be in a bikini. She didn’t want to do it, because she had to dance with a snake which she has a phobia of but needed the job, so she did it.
The other thing that scared her was that it was somewhat of a horror movie, and she avoided looking at all the actors dressed in their prosthetic monster masks when she was going from her trailer to the set. She admits, “I knew it was prosthetics, but they would still freak me out. I was freaked out by my own mask when I turned into a monster and I saw [myself] in the mirror.”
What surprised her is the sheer pop culture moment she became in that bikini dance, “I was really shocked when my five minutes on-screen became so memorable and that people are still talking about this film.”
We are not surprised at all though!

Wearing Hugo Boss For First Red Carpet Wasn’t A “CHOICE”
Hayek first burst onto the screen in Mexican telenovelas before trying her luck in Hollywood. After a small part in 1993’s “Mi Vida Loca” she catapulted to stardom when director Robert Rodriguez cast her in “Desperado” alongside Antonio Banderas.
For her first red carpet, Hayek didn’t know anybody except for someone at Hugo Boss. Designers today would give an arm and a leg to dress her but back then, she had to show up in a man’s suit, as she explains, “I didn't have any connections. The only connection I had was to somebody I knew at Hugo Boss, so I wore a man’s suit because no one else gave me anything to wear.”
Then again, she’d look good in a potato sack, or towels!
