Keri Russell Reacts To That Shocking Big Hair Chop While Filming 'Felicity'

Keri Russellis dramatically revealing how she felt about that big chop haircutthat angered fans of the show.

The American actress got candid about how lucky she feels to have her Disney days in her past. She claims that her life as a Mouseketeer could have been way more complicated if she hadn't gotten "out alive" after being chosen for the position and staying in the role from 1991 to 1994.

She shared with W Magazine that the experience wasn't horrible but could have been better. When asked if she "save anything from your time on the show?" she said, "My sanity, my dignity. Not everyone got out alive."

It's not all bad for Keri, though. She shared that she still has friends from the show and considers herself lucky because she didn't have enough talent to matter, but she did.

She calls Ilana [Miller] and Lindsey [Alley], her former co-star's good friends. Plus, she witnessed the up-and-coming talent of some of today's biggest pop stars.

"I was there at a time when there were many famous kids. And I say this truthfully: I was the least talented one there. I'm not kidding. When I look at those kids, I'm like, why in the world did they pick me? Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling, and Britney Spears. It was wild."

Russell also spoke about some of her other big career moments, like cutting her hair while starring in Felicity.

The actress couldn't believe the dig her career took or how angry people were at her for cutting her hair.

"Then they cut my hair on the show. They were like, "Would you do that?" I was like, "Yeah." Because the character wasn't known to be this beautiful person. She was this nerdy, kind of overly emotional college student," she thought at the time.

"And I thought, Of course, every one of my friends cut their hair. They'd break up with a boy and then have this terrible haircut. So I thought it was perfect. But it was wild. People were agitated by that haircut. Sorry."

Felicity was a huge career move for the actress, and she didn't even know it. Maybe if she knew what a huge deal it was, she wouldn't have agreed to the big chop.

Russell only discovered what a big deal she and her show were when award season rolled around. When asked about a memorable red carpet moment, she said.

"The first thing I remember was Felicity. I was nominated and didn't even know what the Golden Globes were. They said, "Well, you have to wear something fancy." So someone dressed me," she recalled.

"I remember they did my hair and makeup, and I was like, "No, no, no. It would be best if you didn't put makeup on. Then I won't look like me." I looked at that picture, and I had mascara on maybe, cheeks and my wild, crazy curly hair. It's so different now."
