Sources close to Jamie Foxx recently revealed to RadarOnline that the actor is "on a mission." Foxx is reportedly trying to win back the attention of an ex-girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes. The two dated for about six years after she finalized her divorce from actor Tom Cruise, finally ending their relationship in 2019.

Now that Foxx is recovering from a medical crisis, he's reevaluating friendships and old relationships, and his life generally. A source spoke to National Enquirer about his intense chemistry and connection with Holmes in the past.

They said, "Jamie has dated scores of beautiful women in his life, but none came close to matching what he had with Katie. Their chemistry was off the charts. It was a romance born of passion but became so much more. In hindsight, Jamie can't believe he let her slip through his fingers."

In April this year, Foxx's daughter Corinne revealed on social media that he had a health crisis and was rushed to the hospital. She later gave several updates on his recovery, saying Foxx was healing and improving.

Foxx returned to social media to clear the air on his mystery illness and why his family had kept everything private. He thanked fans for their love, support, and prayers, saying, "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show. I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I would make it through."

He added that he went "to hell and back." 

The "Django Unchained" actor has been spotted on a boat cruise and recently played pickleball with Olympic volleyball star Casey Patterson.

An insider told Radar that Foxx is taking his recovery as a second chance at life. He also plans to reconcile with many people and ex-girlfriends, not just Holmes. But about her, they said, "He knows and respects that she's moved on — but if she were open to taking him back, that would be the dream scenario!."

Holmes and Foxx have barely interacted publicly since their breakup, but she was allegedly worried about him during his health crisis. At the time, a source told Radar that the actress felt "in the dark" about his health status after Corinne announced he'd been hospitalized.

The source said, "Katie is desperate to find out more details, but many of her calls to their mutual friends are answered. No one knows what is going on." At the time, Foxx's family kept all information about the nature of his medical complication and recovery private. The actor still hasn't revealed what went wrong.

Even if Holmes cares for Foxx a bit, she might not want to rekindle their romance. However, the source noted, "Jamie is hoping at the very least she'll allow him back into her life. Time's been a great healer. He wants nothing but peace and love with everyone right now."

One of Foxx's multiple recent outings included running errands in L.A with another ex-girlfriend. The "They Cloned Tyrone" actor was photographed with Kristin Grannis, with whom he co-parents a daughter, Anelise Bishop. It was his first outing after facing backlash on social media for an allegedly anti-Semitic Instagram post.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Foxx shared a photo about "Jesus" being "killed," "fake friends," and "fake love," which many interpreted as anti-Semitic.

After the post went viral, the actor deleted it, apologized, and explained the true meaning of his words. He wrote, "To clarify, a fake friend betrayed me, and that's what I meant with 'they,' not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended."
