Rachel Zegler Can't Stop Dumping On 'Snow White' And Disney Fans Are Taking Note!

Disney's current obsession with live-action movies is continuing and next, we'll be seeing Rachel Zegler playing Snow White in the eponymous 2024 movie. That said, from being hated on because no one thought Snow White could be Latina, to her recent comments about this Disney Princess and her less-than-savory Prince, Zegler is okay with being an uncool titular character. For years, that "true love's kiss" that the Prince gives to a "sleeping" Snow White has been a source of contention for many, given the lack of consent.

Zegler is also not a fan of the Prince, as she is heard saying in a recently resurfaced video, “I mean, you know, the original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her.”

At the time, the "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" actress was speaking to "Extra: at the 2022 D23 Expo. After basically calling the prince a "stalker" Zegler laughed and added, "Weird! Weird. We didn’t do that this time."

She also clarified what she meant, given that there is a male character in the movie called Jonathan, saying, "We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we cast a guy in the movie, Andrew Burnap, great dude. It’s one of those things that I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s going to be, but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful."

Not everyone is a fan though, although one cannot expect noted transphobe Matt Walsh to fan over anything!

Meanwhile, Zegler's is not just against the idea of the stalking Prince, she's not a fan of "Snow White" on the whole. In another 2022 interview, this time with Entertainment Weekly, Zegler admitted that she's only seen the original animated film once and didn't really enjoy it. The interview also featured Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen and is rather kicked about the whole thing.

Said Zegler, "I was scared of the original version. I think I watched it once and never picked it up again. I'm being so serious. I watched it once, and then I went on the ride at Disney World, which was called 'Snow White's Scary Adventures.' Doesn't sound like something a little kid would like. I was terrified of it, never revisited Snow White again."

In yet another interview, Zegler basically called the plot "dated" given that it was written back in 1937. Said the actress that this time around, "She's not going to be saved by the prince and she's not going to be dreaming about true love. She's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true."

It seems many are calling Zegler out for her "pseudo-feminism" and saying she does not appreciate this"potentially life-changing role".

TikTok user Angie recently uploaded a video that has generated nearly 10 million views since it was uploaded a few days back, criticizing Zegler for being narrow minded, writing, "Just because a woman values something different, does not make her any less valuable. Some women want a career and not marriage. Some women want marriage or family and not a job. Some women want BOTH. All are to be heard, seen, and valued."

Zegler seems to be ticking off most Disney fans as one Twitter user wrote, "I'm starting to wonder if she's even seen the original film. By all accounts the prince was in the movie for about five minutes. Pretty hard to be a stalker with only five minutes of screen time. The actual stalker in the movie was the wicked Queen. You know, the one who kept turning up where she was and trying to kill her.

Plenty of others seem to find her insufferable as well!

Guess Zegler better whitewash some of that attitude! Or not...
