Sarah Hyland Says Wells Adams Is The 'First Man' To Cook For Her
On the upcoming episode of the podcast "The Flaky Biscuit," set to release on August 15, Sarah Hyland and her spouse Wells Adams share their culinary journey as she fondly recalled the first time the "Bachelor in Paradise" actor took on the role of chef for her.
During their conversation with host Bryan Ford, the couple discussed their earliest date, a significant event from years back when Adams became the "first man" to cook for Hyland. In a clip previewed by People magazine, Adams described the meal as "nostalgic."
Recalling, he shared, "When we first started dating, I remember I would fly out from Nashville to Los Angeles, and I cooked for [Sarah] and made [her] ... shrimp tacos one night and my famous skirt steak recipe tacos."
The 39-year-old bartender shared on the podcast, that Hyland once asked him what his hypothetical "death row meal" or "last meal" would be and that his wife revealed hers would be his tacos.
Their Relationship Began In 'Secret'
During the candid exchange on the podcast, Adams revealed that their relationship was once kept a "secret" due to Hyland's health challenges, including a kidney transplant.
"I was in quarantine, so I couldn't leave the house because my immune system was so, so very low," Hyland explained.
With limited visitors allowed, the "Modern Family" alum highlighted the unconventional start of their romance. She said, "When we first started dating, it's not like we could go out to restaurants, and it's not like we had a first date at a restaurant. Our first meal together was at my house in Studio City. He came and visited and made us shrimp tacos."
To this, Adams recalled an amusing incident involving his sister and his famous shrimp tacos. "It was funny because I lived in Nashville for 12 years, and there were a couple of years when I lived with my sister ... and I remember we did the shrimp tacos and my sister texted me, 'You're not that slick. I know what you're doing. You made your shrimp tacos.'"
"Sarah had posted, 'This is what I'm eating tonight,'" he added.
Hyland fondly remembered their delightful evening, saying, "He had cooked for me, and I never had a man cook for me before, so it was really special. And obviously, I love tacos, and he was just so good at making them."
