Zooey Deschanel Isn't Ready For A Reboot
Zooey Deschanel thinks "it's too soon" for a reboot of her hit sitcom, "New Girl." The show ran on Fox from 2011 to 2018 and featured Deschanel as teacher Jessica Day. The actress spoke to Us Weekly (per KoiMoi.com) about the possibility of a reboot and said the show "needs a little more time" in between the original and a reboot.
She said, "We always talked about '500 Days of Summer' [and] what's a different perspective on that." However, Deschanel shared that she misses her castmates, including Max Greenfield and Jake Johnson. Greenfield played the role of Schmidt, while Johnson played Nick Miller.
"The things I'd like to revisit are my friends. I saw my castmates from 'New Girl' more than my family for seven years. I appreciate getting to work with them, so the thought of revisiting these things is mainly to do with the people," Deschanel added.
She Thought Prince's Cameo Was A Prank
Deschanel also revealed in another interview that she thought Prince's iconic cameo in "New Girl" was originally a prank. The "Yes Man" star said she was shocked when his manager told her he was a huge fan of the show and wanted a feature.
Deschanel and Prince eventually had a duet of "Fallinlove2nite" in a 2014 episode. Their song was eventually released as a single from the show, which also shocked Deschanel. This was two years before the legendary singer's death in 2016 from an accidental drug overdose.
During her interview with The Guardian, the actress expressed her shock about Prince being a fan. She said, "When he contacted me through his manager, I thought someone was pranking me and I asked my agents: 'Can you find out if this is really Prince's manager?' I recorded the song for the show, but when he said they would put it out I was like: 'What? A single with Prince?!' It was a pinch-myself moment."

Scott posted a sweet photo of them smiling happily and captioned it, "500 days of @zooeydeschanel …actually it's been a lot more, but who's counting anyway?. 4 years really flies [sic] by. Happy anniversary baby!!!."
Deschanel posted another sweet photo of her holding on to Scott and then smiling happily. She captioned it, "4 years since I met this freaking dreamboat. I love him more every day. I'm forever grateful!"
They Unveiled Their Remodeled Dream Home
Earlier this year, Deschanel and Scott unveiled their newly-remodeled family home. The reveal was the cover story for the June edition of Scott's magazine with his brother, Drew+Jonathan Reveal. During the interview, Scott said the home is a 1938 Georgian property that's now "a beautiful home with a lot of history."
Deschanel also praised their remodeling, saying they built it to suit their "tastes and needs, aesthetically and functionally." She said, "Jonathan is so amazing at figuring that out. He's been doing it for his clients for so long, and now he's done that for us and our family."
The couple also said the remodeled five-bedroom property is their "dream home." Deschanel and Scott now live there together with her two kids, Charlie and Elsie, who she shares with ex-Jacob Pechenik.
During an earlier interview with People Magazine, Scott discussed the significance of renovating their home. The reality TV star talked about the importance of building a home for their family, somewhere that "will grow" with the kids. He said he and Deschanel "literally designed this house to solve every problem we have."
