In a surprising revelation, Porter disclosed that he is facing the challenging decision to sell his house due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes, which have significantly impacted his income, per the Evening Standard.

The beloved actor and singer shared that he is currently living "check-to-check," highlighting the financial strain caused by the industry-wide labor disputes.

Weighing in on Disney Chief executive, Bob Iger, saying the actor's demands for a living wage are "unrealistic" despite him reportedly making $78,000 a day, Porter noted that he has kept his mouth shut all the while because he's "enraged."

"I have to sell my house," he said. "Yeah! Because we're on strike. And I don't know when we're gonna go back [to work]. The life of an artist, until you make f**k-you money — which I haven't made yet — is still cheque-to-cheque."

Adding another layer to the financial challenges he's currently navigating, the "Anything's Possible" actor revealed that he doesn't receive additional compensation for the repeats of the hit show "Pose" being aired, per the Evening Standard.

Despite the show's popularity and widespread viewership, Porter's revelation highlighted an aspect of the entertainment industry that often goes unnoticed – the lack of residual income for reruns, which according to him, is one of the reasons they're striking.

"I'm not trying to get any sympathy, this is the truth of it, my residual checks were six cents," he said. "I'm still an artist, and artists are still freelance workers. So Pose has been over now since 2021, I don't get no more money from that."

He continued, "I'm supposed to, which is why we're striking. I'm supposed to be getting money from that, but I ain't."

The actor also noted that he still has to worry about "paying" his bills as he does a music tour.

"I'm very successful, and I'm paid cheque to pay cheque. Still, I have not made f**k money just yet, soon, but not just yet," Porter shared.
