Da Brat Say She Is “So Grateful” To Experience Motherhood In Newborn’s Reveal

The former So So Def rapper and serial entrepreneur gave fans a peek at their baby boy through several photosets. In one upload featuring a photoshoot piloted by PEOPLE, the duo, dressed in grey lounge wear, tucked tenderly with the baby.

The little one matched his parents with a grey hat, joggers, white shirt, and socks. The “Glitter” actress spoke to the outlet about being a month into motherhood and how she feels about giving birth after having a high-risk pregnancy.

Utterly in awe of what her body did, she said, "Look, this came out of my stomach. I cry every day. I just look at him and boo-hoo because I’m so grateful." In addition to this reflection, Da Brat acknowledged:

However, the first-time mom laughingly admitted that she “never” wants to experience labor again, though she added, “For him, it was worth it.” Ultimately, the “Sittin’ on Top of the World” rapper wrapped up her sit-down by revealing that she is leading a very different life than her “Brat-a-tat-tat” days when she remarked:

“Who would ever think this? Da Brat-a-tat-tat from 1994! I’m with a beautiful, successful woman who completes me and inspires me to be better. I’m elated to be a mother. I never thought I would be, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I never need another thing in life.”

Aside from their feature in the news outlet, Brat and Judy posted other photos of True to their fans' delight. One was a video of the delivery room, and it showed the “Ghetto Love” musician marveling at her son. Viewers could also see a close-up of the tiny tot during his first moments outside the womb. “This was inside of me,” Brat excitedly captioned the post.

In another Instagram upload, the parents showed baby True Legend posing with a faux boombox and microphone. The parents noted, “It was only right,” referencing the prop choices. Finally, the couple displayed a snap of themselves posing with their son alongside Judy’s adult children and granddaughter, showing off their entire family.

After the “Boom” rapper and the CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products announced they were pregnant with their one-month-old son, spectators raised eyebrows at them for choosing a white sperm donor.

The questioning began when the adorable lovers discussed their decision to use a white sperm donor for their baby boy. They explained how genetic screening ruled out most of the thousands of candidates they had at the start of the process.

Brat said, "We didn’t have a lot to choose from; he wasn’t Black.” She explained that the Black guy “looked like Jiminy Cricket” and added, “I was like, “I’m sorry, but that wasn’t gonna be my choice.”

The pair also admitted that despite their limited donor options, they made the right choice. “I think we did a great job with picking. He’s handsome and tall, and I think he will look beautiful with my wife’s egg,” Brat noted.

Later, Judy took to social media to respond to critics saying their choice meant they didn’t want a black child. "Black men make up less than 5% of the donation pool," she explained. The businesswoman then further elaborated that she and Brat had to extend their decision to get more options. She wrote:

"We waited a few weeks to see if the pool increased. But unfortunately, with the time frame we had to choose within 6-8 weeks, there were no more new black donors that fit within the perfect fit with my genetic testing."
