Hockey Goalie Mikayla Demaiter Faces Backlash Over Her ‘Stupid Walk’

Hockey goalie Mikayla Demaiter has a lot of fans, but it appears not everyone loves the Canadian model's Instagram reels.

Although her 2.7 million followers usually love it when she posts videos showing off her long legs, some followers really let her know exactly what they thought, criticizing her “stupid” walk.

Although some fans think that the Canadian model looks like a real-life Barbie doll, other users were not a fan of her latest video, which featured her walking down the streets of Paris in a tiny green crop top and high-waisted shorts. She paired the look with open-toe sandals as she walked down the street, placing one foot in front of the other.

She set the video to Roy Orbison’s hit song “Oh, Pretty Woman.” Mikayla is known for her tongue-in-cheek captions; in this one, she wrote, “Turning heads everywhere I go can be a bit exhausting but someone’s got to do it.” Although she is just joking, some users might have taken it seriously, which may have prompted the backlash – however uncalled for.

“Main character syndrome,” one user declared. “What a stupid way to walk,” another netizen commented. “She walks very stupid,” a third user agreed. “I’m sorry but no normal humans walk like that,” another netizen commented. “How embarrassing and unoriginal! Boring and narcissistic,” another user commented. “Remember guys, looks fade. Find someone with character,” another added.

Fortunately, there were many fans who came to her defense and did not understand all of the backlash that she was getting. “What's going on with all those negative comments here bro? She is fine as h*ll fr. She has a dream body and her face just looks like a doll wtf,” one fan commented.

“I love how men have learned to do nothing but enter the lives of women being happy and confident and doing themselves just to blatantly criticize and attempt to knock them down because they are so deeply insecure,” another follower shared. “There is no other possible reason to come here except to declare to the world that a pretty lady makes you rage cry because you know you couldn’t have her. Why does a small internet clip make you so god d*mn angry? Get some therapy, Jesus. Spend your time being positive and building people up, your bitterness is ugly and a waste of your time and energy.”

In another Instagram video, set to Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes, Mikayla walks uphill in a long-sleeve crop top, daisy dukes, and strappy sandals. “I’m a woman of many talents and making walking uphill in heels look easy is among them,” she wrote in the caption.

Unfortunately, trolls covered the comments section in this post too. “Porn is not a talent,” one user wrote. “When are you going to learn that walk is not sexy?” another follower asked. “Goddess… but beauty fades. Rely on your academic talents,” another netizen chimed in. “You should learn how to walk with those. No style at all,” another added.
