Doctor Who Delivered 'Flipping Out' Star Jeff Lewis' Child Backs Surrogate in Legal Battle Against Reality Star

The surrogate suing "Flipping Out" star Jeff Lewis for allegedly filming the birth of his child without her permission has the doctor who delivered the baby on her side as she battles the reality star in court.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Dr. Lindsey Cafferata filed a declaration in support of Alexandra Trent, who is suing Lewis, his partner, Gage Edwards, Bravo, and the production company behind "Flipping Out."

Dr. Cafferata said that during an office visit, she "heard Ms. Trent inform the show producers that she did not want to be filmed while she gave birth as she did not want her reproductive organs displayed on television."

The OB-GYN claims Jeff Lewis and Edwards told her that they wanted to "film the birth for home use" but the video would not appear on the show.

Dr. Cafferata further claims the show's producers told here "that there would be no filming during the birth."

In her declaration, Trent says she believed she was not being filmed. She claims, "On the day of the birth, I assumed my statement was being respected as I did not see any cameras in the labor room before labor started. I was also not notified by Defendants that they were going to film the birth as they had done previously with other medical procedures. It appears from the show episode that Defendants were filming the birth from behind a curtain."

Trent claims the release she signed stated it was for a "single appearance" and was told the pregnancy and birth would be covered by another release agreement.

She claims to have been very clear during later conversations that she did not want the birth filmed. Trent says when they presented her with another release, she refused to sign it.

Trent is seeking unspecified damages for invasion of privacy and fraud.

Jeff Lewis and Bravo argue none of these arguments void the release agreement Trent did sign and are demanding the court send the case to arbitration immediately.

They claimed she signed away her rights prior to ever appearing on the show and demanded the case be heard in arbitration.

The case is ongoing.
