'I love And Support The Jewish Community.'
"Annie" star Jamie Foxx is apologizing for a post he made deemed "antisemitic" by fans.
On his Instagram page, Foxx wrote, "I want to apologize to the Jewish community who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offence and I'm sorry."
He continued, "That was never my intent. To clarify, a fake friend betrayed me and that's what I meant with "they" not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community."
"My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended. Nothing but love always," the actor concluded.
While supporting Foxx, a fan wrote, "I know you personally; I'm Jewish and know you are the last person that would EVER act Anti Semetic. Your kind and thoughtful to everyone. I would vouch for you always."
Another said, "I'm jewish and it never crossed my mind once."
Jamie Foxx Deemed 'Anti-Semitic' For Controversial Jesus Post
Foxx faced significant backlash from fans who accused him of "antisemitism." On Friday, the actor shared a controversial post about the death of Jesus.
It read, "They killed this dude name [sic] Jesus… What do you think they'll do to you???!" and was accompanied by the hashtags #fakefreinds and #fakelove.
Although the actor has since taken down the post, several fans have swarmed to his other posts, calling him out for the message, which many find offensive to Jews.
One person wrote, "The Jesus post was disappointing, Jamie. Did the likes of Kanye, Ice Cube, and Louis Farrakhan get to you? And what's with @jenniferaniston jumping on the bandwagon?? You guys don't think there's enough hatred in the world that you need to fuel the fire? Shame on both of you and all the others who joined in."
Another said, "Shocking that celebs like you and Kayne go on about Black Lives Matter and then go def con three on Jews. Ignorance at its finest, Jews don't believe in Jesus."
A third person stated that Foxx's account may have been "hacked" due to his friendship with Jewish stars, like Tiffany Haddish and Drake.
They noted, "I think Jamie Foxx's Instagram account was hacked. Why would Jamie write this when his best friends with @tiffanyhaddish, and Drake, Why? That doesn't make any sense at all. Foxx has been [gone] over four months fighting something. He's not the "college dropout" we know is an outright antisemite. I believe his account was hacked, simple as that."
"Your anti-Jewish remarks are wrong, disgusting, and inciting against Jews. But no one will do anything to you and you won't suffer from backlash because of how racist the media and Hollywood are! Shame," said another person.
Jamie Foxx Is A Baptist Church Member
Although the recent controversial post may look out of place to some of the actor's fans, Foxx is a known Baptist church member who has been very open about his Christian background.
In the past, he has vocally expressed his devotion to his Christian faith and how it has helped guide him.
During a chat with fellow actor Joseph Gordon Levitt for an interview with WIRED, Foxx candidly talked about Jesus after being asked a question about veganism and even proceeded to recite the books of the old testament.
"I am Baptist, I have been Baptist my whole life," he declared. "To me, Jesus is the foundation. Nothing against other vegans, I don't know where they go as far as heaven and hell is concerned, but I know where I'm going as far as heaven is concerned."
He added, "It's about Jesus, nothing against Vegans, but we are going to heaven over here."
Jamie Foxx Clears The Air On His Health Scare
Foxx recently came out to put rumors to rest about his health. The actor shared a video to prove to his fans, who had been asking questions about his well-being since his Hospitalization in April, that he had recovered.
In the clip posted on his Instagram page, Foxx wearing a black shirt, told fans he was on the mend and kept his illness private because he did not want anyone to see him in bad condition.
He said, "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show… I just didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through."
Foxx added that he "did go to hell and back" but was doing better thanks to his loved ones who cared for him during the period.
