Actor Mark Margolis has died. The actor, known for his roles in "Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul," and 1983's "Scarface" was 83.

The actor was surrounded by his family in New York City during his last moments. He was reportedly hospitalized at New York's Mt. Sinai Hospital, per our report on his death. (via Variety)

Margolis, who was perhaps best known for playing Hector Salamanca in "Breaking Bad," had a theater background in his early professional years. "Breaking Bad," which aired from 2008 until 2013 for five seasons, wouldn't be his only television credit. He guest-starred on "The Affair," "Gotham," and David Duchovny's "Californication."

Several of Margolis' "Breaking Bad" co-stars have paid tribute to the late actor on social media, including Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White.

'Breaking Bad' Actors Honor Mark Margolis

Cranston, 67, honored Margolis with an Instagram tribute. He would share a shot of Margolis from "Breaking Bad," as well as Cranston's 2020 Showtime series, "Your Honor." According to IMDB, Margolis starred in five episodes.

"I am very saddened today to learn of a friend's passing," Cranston began his tribute. "Mark Margolis was a really good actor and a lovely human being. Fun and engaging off the set, and (in the case of 'Breaking Bad' and 'Your Honor') intimidating and frightening on set," Cranston continued. "His quiet energy belied his mischievous nature and curious mind... and he loved sharing a good joke. I miss him already. Rest now, Mark and thank you for your friendship and exceptional body of work," he concluded.

Actor Dean Norris tweeted his condolences. Norris played Hank Schrader, Walter's brother-in-law, who finds himself between a rock and a hard place countless times in the series because of his job as a DEA agent.

Norris tweeted, "So sad to hear Mark Margolis has died. A phenomenal actor. A funny guy. RIP. My thoughts are with his family"

Bob Odenkirk, best known for his role as Saul Goodman in both "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" would join Norris in tweeting a tribute to his former co-star on X.

Odenkirk, who suffered a heart attack in 2021, wrote, "A powerful screen presence! Mark made me laugh in the van on the way to set with his jokes and comments and I only hope I have half his energy and focus when 'Action' was shouted. Thank you, Mark, and condolences to your family." (per Deadline)

Margolis' 'Better Call Saul' Costars Also Paid Tribute To The Actor

Michael Mando, known for his role as Nacho on "Better Call Saul" also posted a heartfelt tribute to his co-star on Instagram.

Alongside a photo of himself planting a kiss on Margolis' cheek, he wrote, "It is with such a heavy heart that I process your passing my friend... Mark, getting to know you over the seasons and years has been one of the most enriching experiences of my career," Mando continued. "You've deepened my understanding of this art form- your no BS attitude has deepened my understanding of life and what matters. The very last thing you told me before I exited the honey wagon in S6 was, 'I really didn't want to like your character... but I do.'' I can't tell you how much that meant to me... you're a legend and a strong, beautiful soul," he continued. "I'm in tears and have no words but LOVE ?," he concluded.

Max Arciniega, who did double time by appearing in both series, took to X to post a photo of himself and Margolis off camera. He wrote, "It was an honor to have shared the screen with this powerhouse, and an honor to listen to the stories he shared about his family and his career. Rest easy, Don Hector," Arciniega concluded. (both per Deadline)

Margolis' manager Robert Kolker would issue a statement on Friday.

Kolker called his client "one of a kind. We won't see his likes again. He was a treasured client and a lifelong friend. I was lucky to know him," he wrote. Kolker had represented Margolis since 2007. (per The Blast)
