Notoriety can be put to good use and so, the event organizer is using THAT Cardi B mic, the one she threw at the audience, and auctioning it for charity. The last we checked, the bid was just $100 short of $100K...
What Mic Are We Talking About?
Last Saturday, the “WAP” singer was performing outdoors at Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub. Wearing a stunning orange outfit, Cardi B and the DJ egged fans to throw water on her, and videos show her asking the audience to put some water on her p---- as well. It seems the moment had well and truly passed when one fan flung her icy drink at the rapper, shocking her, while she was performing “Bodak Yellow.” Also, this got her on the face, and Cardi B was not happy as she immediately flew into a rage.
Since then, videos and memes of the rapper turning into “Lady Liberty” and bopping a mic at a concertgoer have gone viral on social media, even as one video shows the “miscreant” apologizing, saying “Sorry, I’m sorry…” While many claimed she got the woman, fresh reports now suggest she hit the wrong person, who went and filed a police report against the singer.
As per Insider, a concertgoer reported a “battery” to authorities a day after the incident, but no arrests have been made. The person in question told the authorities that she was at a concert on Saturday and was “struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”
The item, the mic, is now up for auction on eBay. Here's a little reminder:

Bids Reaching Nearly $100K For Cardi B "Mic Drop"
Giving a whole new meaning to the phrase, “mic drop,” the organizer of the event, Scott Fisher, decided to put its notoriety to good use. Fisher, who owns a sound production company in Nevada, has 16 identical mics. But the one he put up for auction was flung into a crowd by rapper Cardi B on Saturday after a fan threw a drink at her during a concert.
Fisher, who owns a sound production company in Nevada, has 16 identical mics. When the videos of Cardi B hurling that mic into the audience began to get viral, Fisher posted a little snippet on Facebook, writing, “It was so nice waking up to multiple people sending me links to the video of Cardi B winging one of my mics at somebody.”
When lots of people began to approach him about the mic, showing interest in buying it, Fisher decided to do something about it. But first, he checked whether that same mic could be traced, given that there were many mics on the show. As per Washington Post, he learned it was the mic that had been marked by white tape, with “MAIN” written in Sharpie, during the sound check.
When he put it up on auction on Aug 1, before going to bed, he saw that the bid reached $500, but now in just a couple of days, the bids are just $100 shy of $100,000!
A “Piece Of Hip Hop Infamy” For Charity
55-year-old Fisher dubbed the mic “a piece of hip hop infamy” on the eBay auction page, is blown away by the rise in bids, given that the Shure Axient digital mic usually retails for around $2,000.
He had used eBay to sell off old stock previously, but never something with a celebrity angle to it. Meanwhile, the mic is going to go for a good cause as he decided to sell it to raise money for two charities.
One is Friendship Circle Las Vegas, a group that supports people with special needs. The second is the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit dedicated to programs for veterans and service members. While the rise in bids had delighted him, Fisher is also wary because he wants to make sure that all the bids are legitimate and not just put in as a joke.
The auction will end in another 4 days and 7 hours, at the time of writing this article, although the $99,900 bid has held steady for quite a few hours now. Let’s see how much Cardi B’s notoriety helps to raise monies for charity.
Meanwhile, Cardi B has already moved on!
