TikTok Famous Sapphie The Pomsky Is About To Release A Book!

Sapphie the Pomsky has captured many hearts on social media and now has a fan base of more than 6 million! The talking pup wows people with her ability to use word buttons to communicate with her human parents, Sheena and Sunit Shah. And now, she's about to embark on a new exciting journey with a book!

Sapphie's mom recently sat down with The Blast to talk about her new book, "Sapphie: The Dog With Feelings," which is set to be released next week.

Sapphie's mom Sheena has always been passionate about writing. As a healthcare provider, she's written many motivational articles for the Huffington Post and Elite Daily. So naturally, a children's book about Sapphie that ties in mental health became an idea.

"It has always been a goal of mine to write a book – something that inspires or helps people. I also work full-time as a healthcare provider, specializing in psychiatry. I am a huge advocate of mental health, and it is something that I practice in my day-to-day life. Even when it comes to making Sapphie videos, my husband and I set 10 minutes aside to make content. We skip the days where either Sapphie isn’t in the best mood or we are too tired from work. We set boundaries and limits because we do not want the pressures of social media to affect our mental health," Sheena explained exclusively to The Blast.

"I wanted to intersect all the things that I am passionate about: Sapphie, writing, children, and mental health! I am going to be a mother in less than a month, and I wanted to dedicate a book to my baby. I think it is extremely crucial to set a foundation of self-expression at a young age. I want my baby and other children to be able to know that it is okay to feel all types of emotions and let them out in a healthy way. The more we keep things bottled up inside, the more it impacts our lives in a toxic way. I wrote this book myself in hopes to inspire young children to be self-expressive when it comes to their emotions!"

Sheena wanted to combine her TikTok famous pup with mental health messages in the book as well as in their TikTok videos because it's something that many can relate to. She said that as a full-time healthcare provider in psychiatry, she's experienced struggles that are relatable.

"We all have different obstacles in life that affect our mind and so I really wanted to be able to spread the message that we are not alone," she said. "I want to be able to motivate others through our fun-loving Sapphie to know that feelings are valid and that it is okay to not be okay!"

As a first-time author, Sheena was determined to get the book completed. Once she sets out to do something, there's no stopping her! Even with the occasional roadblock, Sheena made it to the finish line.

"I learned everything myself by watching videos, reading articles, and of course, through roadblocks," she told The Blast. "What is life if there aren’t any roadblocks, setbacks, or challenges? We can choose to think of it as failure or we can look at it from a different perspective and do what it takes to overcome it and become successful. I definitely hit some roadblocks when it came to publishing."

But she cleared the roadblocks, and the book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart. It will be available for purchase on August 9, 2023. The book is also available on their website.

With their first baby due in just a few weeks, the family of three is about to become a family of four, and big sister Sapphie is ready for her new job.

"Sapphie is so loving with babies. She follows them around everywhere and just wants to be near them," Sheena said. "I do think Sapphie will be a protective and loving older sister to our baby, and I am looking forward to having them meet!"

Sapphie joined the family during the pandemic, and they've had her for three years now. Sheena wanted a dog when she was younger and always begged her parents for a husky with blue eyes.

"My husband had a Pomeranian while growing up, so we thought the perfect compromise was a pomsky," she explained. "We ended up getting her during a time where we needed the emotional support, and it was the best decision we ever made. She is family!"

Anyone who watches their videos can tell they are family. Sapphie is included in everything they do. It was Sapphie that told Sunit that Sheena was pregnant, and Sapphie also got the job of revealing the baby's gender.

Sapphie is known for her amazing communication skills with the word buttons. All of her loyal fans know just what her favorite word button is (no spoilers here, go watch her TikTok videos).

"I remember the first time I got Sapphie the buttons. It was so funny the way she clicked them with her expressive face," Sheena said. "I started out with one button and kept adding more. She picked it up within a couple of weeks. I kept trying just for 5 minutes daily, and it seems like she actually really loves using them!"

Sheena wants everyone to know that the goal of their videos is pure happiness.

"The goal of our videos is to make people smile, laugh," she said. "I want to share her with the world because she really is special, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives."
