'Swifties' have had a busy 2023 so far. The 33-year-old embarked on her highly-anticipated 'Eras Tour' and announced the next 'Taylor's Version' re-recording only for it to be released shortly after; "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" was released on July 9th!

Even though fans haven't been in the "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" 'era' for very long, Swifties are already trying to figure out whether the "Style" singer has started to subtly drop hints regarding the next re-recording. Swift's landmark 2014 LP, "1989" seems to be the consensus to be the next record to receive the re-recording treatment!

'Swifties' Have Already Received Some '1989 (Taylor's Version)' Treats

The idea of "1989" receiving the re-recording treatment sooner rather than later is not out of the realm of possibility!

In 2021, the original version of "Wildest Dreams" went viral on TikTok, so Swift gifted her fans "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)" a bit early! In the video, Swift included "You set a date for 'Red' in November and someone mentions '1989,' as its text. "Red (Taylor's Version)" was indeed released in November.

In early 2022, Swifties found out a 'Taylor's Version' of "This Love" existed when Swift revealed it had been included on the Amazon Prime adaptation of Jenny Han's book series, "The Summer I Turned Pretty."

Swift revealed in the caption of her Instagram reel containing a snippet of the track that she had "always been proud of this song."

'Swifties' Know 'All Too Well' How To Develop Some Theories!

Swift's devoted fanbase have been known to come up with theories concerning the "New Romantics" singer's next move: Swift confirmed her awareness of their ideas at an Eras Tour show!

Swifties are currently hard at work on X (formerly Twitter) looking for clues to support their theory that "1989" may be up next. Both "#1989TaylorsVersion" and "1989 TV" were trending topics on Wednesday afternoon.

One fan tweeted a photo of a Swift statue at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium. Another quote-tweeted the photo and wrote, "UHMM A SAND SCULPTURE?! MA"AM 1989 IS A BEACH AESTHETIC ALBUM."

Another Swiftie tweeted, "today could be our last day without a #1989TaylorsVersion official date release," alongside a photo of a clown. Swifties often say they are "clowning" when they're deep in theory-mode

"SO MANY 1989 references around the corner," a Swiftie wrote. Do you remember her Grammy Museum performances, the way she stripped down songs like OOTW, 'Blank Space,' and 'Wildest Dreams'…. UGGGGHH," they concluded.

Fans Are Taking Over Twitter With Their Fan Theories!

"Here's my clown theory," a Swiftie tweeted, "8+5=13, 1989 is the fifth studio album so announcement on 8/5 for the Friday October 13th release of 1989," they concluded, with a clown emoji.

"Taylor just coming on to Twitter to celebrate August and finding out she now has to announce 1989tv this weekend," a fan tweeted.

"I predict that somewhere in the 1989 vault sits a song that will be in my top 5 of her entire discography once 1989TV is released. I feel it in my bones," another weighed in.

"1989" was originally released in October of 2014, and contains the hit songs "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space." Swift's fifth album was also memorable for serving as her landmark crossover into pop music.
