Euphoria star Angus Cloud has passed away at 25, and for now, the cause of the death remains unknown, and the authorities have launched an investigation. Here's what we know of the tragedy till now…
A 911 Call Came In From Angus Cloud's Mother
As per a report from TMZ, Oakland PD, and Fire Dept. responded to a 911 call made around 11:30 AM Monday by Angus Cloud's mother. She reported a "possible overdose," and said that Angus did not have a pulse. After the authorities arrived, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Sources close to the family suggest that Angus might have been battling severe suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland, where they had gone to do the final rites of his father, who recently passed away. He was staying with family to try and battle his grief.
A statement from the family reads: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope his passing can remind others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
Cloud's family also requests privacy as they struggle through this difficult time, saying, "We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy now as we are still processing this devastating loss." For now, nothing has been said about the manner of his death, although the statement suggests it could have something to do with his struggle to cope with his father's death.
Angus Cloud Was A Rising Hollywood Star
Angus was going great guns in Hollywood, though he will perhaps be best remembered for his breakout role in the hit HBO series, "Euphoria." He played Fezco from 2019 to 2022, the drug dealer plus guardian angel for Zendaya's character, Rue Bennett. Cloud co-starred in the series with the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and more. He was discovered by the show's casting department while working in a restaurant in New York.
"Euphoria" director Sam Levinson remembers Cloud, "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, talented, and young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace, and God Bless his family."
Cloud also starred in movies like "The Line" and "North Hollywood." Plus, he's had cameo appearances in the music videos of artists Becky G, Karol G, and Juice WRLD and also had a few projects lined up.
Javon "Wanna" Walton, who played Cloud's on-screen little brother Ashtray on "Euphoria," shared a post to Instagram remembering his co-star.
