Actress Megan Fox is firing back against the "psychos" and "weirdos" who put her on blast for not donating to her friend's GoFundMe page.

A friend of the "Jennifer's Body" actress, Nails of LA creator Brittney Boyce, launched a GoFundMe to help her father, who was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although the actress shared the GoFundMe link to her Instagram Stories and asked fans to donate, some felt that it was hypocritical of her not to donate herself.

On Thursday afternoon, Fox took to her Instagram Stories to address the backlash against her, explaining that she didn't want to make her friend uncomfortable and ruin their business relationship by giving her large sums of money.

On Thursday afternoon, the "Transformers" actress put out a brief statement regarding the online criticism surrounding Brittney's GoFundMe page. The actress began her statement by writing, “Hey weirdos” before she proceeded to call out users who criticized her for not publicly donating to her friend’s GoFundMe.

“Do any of you have the emotional intelligence to consider that maybe Brit doesn’t want her celebrity clients donating large sums of money to her because it creates a dynamic in her working relationships that makes her uncomfortable?” she asked. “So instead of she asked me to post the GoFundMe so that many people could donate small amounts of money to help them reach their goal.”

“I just obliged her request. Anything she needs from me personally, she will ask and I will do privately,” the actress continued. “One thing you’re not going to accuse me of is being miserly or lacking generosity. So try again on another day (probably tmwr!) with some different bulls--- you bunch of psychos.”

“My friends [sic] dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please do,” Brittney wrote alongside a prayer hands emoji. She explained how her father was having some health issues last month and finally made it to see a doctor for a CT scan last week. The 64-year-old "has already missed a lot of work over this and I assume he will be missing a lot more," according to the petition.

At this time, it seems he is not getting treatment, and will discuss options with his medical team next week on how best to proceed with his medical care.  "I know things are tough for everyone right now but if you’re able to donate or share it would really help. He picked up his first prescription yesterday and it wasn’t covered by insurance the cost of that alone was $1000 and it’s not even a full month supply," she wrote, adding that she had created the GoFundMe so that her father "can focus on himself and not stress on finances."

Brittney’s initial ask was for $30,000 and many fans couldn’t help but point out that $30,000 was also the cost of the diamond-encrusted manicure that Megan Fox’s fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, got for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The manicure boasted more than 880 diamonds, weighed more than 11 carats, and, awkwardly enough, was created by Brittney herself.

Many fans felt uncomfortable that the actress was not publicly donating herself, and took to the FauxMoi Reddit page to call her out. “I feel so uncomfortable when wealthy celebrities post GoFundMe pages for people they know. I know we don’t understand the full situation, but it always gives me an ick feeling,” one user wrote. “The wealthy should absolutely cover this. Sorry, not sorry. Stop hoarding money and asking your much poorer fans to help,” another agreed.

Although some fans thought it was "cringey" for the actress to ask others to donate without doing so herself, judging by her recent statement, it looks like she is taking steps to assist Brittney privately.
