Madison Beer Claps Back At Online Troll
The incident began when a troll, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, posted a comment on one of Beer's Instagram photos of her in a white baby doll dress, remarking that she was "getting fatter" and should "do some cardio."
The body shamer wrote, "Hey Madison i've noticed that [your] legs and arms are getting fatter. Please do some cardio because we men only like skinny girls. [Your] face is already perfect, but please we love a thin-waisted girl."

However, instead of letting the negativity affect her, Beer chose to use her platform to address the issue head-on and stand up against body shaming.
"I wouldn't touch you with a 10 ten foot pole if you paid me a million dollars," she wrote. Fans also quickly came to the singer's defense, slamming the troll for trying to body-shame Beer.
Madison Beer Shares Her Experience With Online Hate
Earlier in April, Beer released her memoir The Half of It, detailing her experiences with online hate, the rejection she felt after being dropped by her label and manager, substance abuse and self-harm, and how she seemingly overcame that phase to fall in love with herself again.
"I do have so much love around me and I'm so grateful, but by the same token I feel like it's my responsibility to say, Hey, this is someone who's been doing this for 10-plus years and I'm still not immune to the hate," Beer noted per Forbes Magazine.
"If I were to have been successful in my suicide attempt, people would have been like, 'Oh my goodness we had no idea... that so horrible.' But of course, since I'm still alive that empathy is sadly lacking."
The "Reckless" singer noted that she still struggles with social media, "whether it's body image issues or insecurities and self-doubt as most, if not every, 24-year-old girl does." She added, "It's hard because it has done so much negative to my psyche, but it's also [more recently] brought so much positivity to my life and I've been able to reach and touch people."
Her 'Bright Spot' Was Her Album
The "Louder Than Words" alum went on to share that she had to take a pause on using social media because she was in her darkest place but quickly realized that she couldn't evade public scrutiny.
"I wanted to so badly to disappear and be not seen for a while… but I felt like I could never get away from the public eye," she recalled. "Even when I would leave my house and go outside, when I was self-harming and wearing sweatshirts people noticed and it was like, 'Why is she wearing a hoodie in 90-degree weather?' All of it was weighing really negatively on me and I was just feeling terrible about myself and my life."
Beer's inspiration at the time was the album she was working on, which she named "Life Support" as a nod to what was going on in her life.
"I named my album Life Support because it really was that. It was the reason I got out of bed in the morning and it gave me a reason to want to survive this and stay alive. Without that reason I don't know what could've and would've happened," she shared.
Madison Beer's New Album Gets Her Icon's Approval
Beer recently revealed that she got the stamp of approval on her forthcoming album "Silence Between Songs" from one of her idols, Lana del Rey.
According to Rolling Stone, Beer noted that the album, which is set to be released in September, was heavily influenced by the likes of Tame Impala, the Beach Boys, and Del Rey — who she sent some of the songs for her take on them.
"[Del Rey] said she listened to it a couple of times back to back, and I can't believe that," Beer revealed. "It's so awesome to have someone who has been such an idol of mine be so supportive of me and gracious always."
She continued, "She's definitely someone that makes me believe in goodness."
