Drake Calls Marriage An 'Ancient' Concept
Drake was recently featured on "The Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff," during which he opened up about his love life. According to Page Six, He discussed his decision to remain unmarried so far and said the idea of marriage is from "ancient times."
The "Hotline Bling" rapper said, "I don't know. It seems like a thing of, like, ancient times or something. I think I will eventually. I don't know, I don't think I can offer somebody what they'd be looking for. Just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority."
When Althoff speculated that Drake's decision not to get married was because he wanted to keep "sleeping around," he immediately shut it down. The "Passionfruit" rapper explained that it's because he can't be consistent or dedicated to a relationship "at this stage" of his life and career. He said he doesn't "wanna disappoint someone."
Drake Shares His Preferences For A Wife
Over the years, Drake has been romantically involved with several women, including Rihanna, Rashida Jones, and SZA. However, during the podcast interview, the rapper revealed that he doesn't think he'd marry a fellow celebrity.
He said, "I probably will not end up marrying someone famous. Famous people really aren't that, like, anything — they're not that intriguing." When asked what qualities he looks out for in a partner, Drake said he'd prefer "somebody that's an individual."
He explained, "I like somebody that's, like, their own. They're not just not like a carbon copy, like a person that I've seen a bunch of times throughout my existence. I like somebody with a sense of humor, you know? I like — I don't know, like, cosplay."
When Althoff asked him to explain more about the cosplay aspect, Drake said he didn't actually want them to wear costumes. He said, "I probably will f**k with them more if they are into cosplay. Not with me, just like generally."
