Honey Boo Boo is all grown up! Alana Thompson, best known by her adorable childhood moniker, is taking her relationship with Dralin Carswell to the next level.
The fourth and youngest of June Thompson's daughters stole the hearts of millions at a young age while competing in beauty pageants. This phase of her life earned her a spot on the TLC hit series "Toddlers & Tiaras."
The reality TV star may no longer be strutting down the stage in her adorable pink outfits; however, she continues to thrive in her teenage years. The 17-year-old recently celebrated two milestones, her acceptance into college and her first romantic cohabitation.
Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson's College Future Looks PDA-Filled As Her Longtime Beau Tags Along
Leaving home for a new academic adventure can be a nerve-wracking experience, but the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star claimed she had nothing to fear as she would have a familiar face by her side. The teenager opened up about her university plans.
While promoting their WEtv series, "Mama June: From Not to Hot," the young entertainer gushed about her future and how her boyfriend of nearly three years had a special place in it.
The McIntyre native, who graduated from high school in May, revealed she would study Nursing at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. However, the social media influencer would not live like other students as she ditched the college dorms to be with her beau.
"I'll be moving off campus for security reasons and because Dralin is coming with me," the TV personality chimed. According to Honey Boo Boo, convincing her 21-year-old lover to leave their hometown for a new place was not challenging.
"I think he's more excited to move there than me. He's ready to move out of our small town and experience something new, too," the TLC alum confessed. Carswell's enthusiasm to cohabitate with Thompson might not only be for a chance to leave Georgia, as this opportunity marks the couple's first time living together.
Addressing the big relationship step, the "Dancing with the Stars: Juniors" ex-participant raved to ET Online: "I think it'll be good for us, honestly, and I think it will be fun. Even though I'm moving halfway across the country, it'll be good for me."
Moving in together marks the lovebirds' first step in their happily-ever-after plans. Despite the four-year age gap, the duo are committed to building a long-lasting bond and have begun thinking about children.
However, raising kids is not a bridge the TV personality wishes to cross in the foreseeable future. Explaining that she wished to prioritize her career, Alana wailed: "I don't want kids, and he does. I'd want to stay in Colorado long enough to work in nursing after school."
Given the seriousness of their relationship, when asked if she believed her boyfriend was her Mr. Right, the 17-year-old aired her doubts. "I can't say that because I don't know what life holds, but I hope," she said.
While the McIntyre native was unsure about her future with Carswell, the media personality was sure about her college goals. Thompson expressed her excitement for new experiences at Regis University but declared she would abstain from all distractions, especially Greek life.
"I don't want to be part of a sorority because -- and don't hound me for saying this -- all sorority girls are stuck up!" she claimed. "That's not me. I'm not a Chanel bag type of girl. I'm going to do my studies and graduate in 2029."
Honey Boo Boo's Mother & Older Sister React To Her Cohabitation With Dralin Carswell
During the interview, Mama June Shannon and her daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird weighed in on the 17-year-old's romance with Carswell. The entertainer's older sister stated she was not against the duo's relationship as long as the 21-year-old prioritized Thompson's happiness.
"All that matters to me is that Dralin treats Alana right," Efird explained. "He's respectful, my kids love him, and his family is great. That's all that matters to me."
As for the family's matriarch, Mama June, she warned her youngest daughter of the negative impacts of cohabiting with a lover. Although she supported their affair, the TLC alum noted Honey Boo Boo would always come first.
"Pumpkin and I have also told her, 'It's either gonna make or break her and Dralin, and it's gonna either make or break herself,'" the 43-year-old said. "But like we always told her, she can always return home if she doesn't like it."
