Lindsie Chrisley wants no part in documenting her family's mess!
The daughter of Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry has spoken about her decision not to partake in an upcoming documentary about her family's legal problems involving her father and stepmother, Julie. The couple's challenge started when they were convicted of fraud charges in November 2022.
They subsequently reported to prison to serve their sentences — Todd in Pensacola, Florida, facing 12 years, and Julie in Lexington, Kentucky, for seven years. Now, Lindsie has disclosed that participating in the documentary would be "unfair" to the duo, who cannot defend themselves.
Lindsie Chrisley's Conflicting Takes On Her Dad's Legal Issues Has Raised Some Brows
Despite the hardship of being locked up, Todd and Julie have remained optimistic, firmly believing in the possibility of their convictions being overturned as they continue their appeals.
However, before then, Lindsie has addressed the rumored documentary detailing her family's woes in the latest episode of her podcast, "Southern Tea with Lindsie Chrisley." To that end, she divulged that she had turned down the offer to partake in the project out of concern for her father and stepmother's well-being.
"I just decided that I'm not going to participate in something that one; I don't even know what the heck's going on. What could they possibly document that would even be relevant that anyone doesn't already know?" she stated. Due to those circumstances, the 33-year-old declared that getting involved with the documentary was simply "not really worth" her time.
She also claimed it was "not fair to people" because "they would be documenting about people who can't potentially defend themselves in the event that they would need to defend themselves." Lindsie had initially talked about the impending project on Instagram last week, typing:
"I'd like to address a rumor floating around about a possible documentary some family was approached to participate in. I respectfully declined and do not plan to participate in any project that doesn't allow for everyone's voice to be heard. We all have a story, there's always multiple sides and the truth lies somewhere in the middle."
While her words emphasized her stance, fans might need clarification on the television personality's contradictory statements. Although she claimed to be there to support her family, a previous Instagram Story revealed that she had blocked her siblings during an argument to avoid confrontation.
In her candid admission, Lindsie owned up to the mistake, acknowledging her decision to block everyone and considering it her fault. However, she downplayed the severity of the situation by declaring, "No drama, everything is fine. We are all fine."
As The Blast noted, the South Carolina-born blonde has been going back and forth on how she intends to deal with Todd and Julie's tax charges, ultimately deciding that staying out of it was better for her mental well-being.
The 'Chrisley Knows Best' Alum's Son Can Barely Keep It Together
Amidst Lindsie figuring out how to cope with the family drama, she has also expressed her deep concern about her son, Jackson, who is finding it tough too. In an emotional Instagram post shared recently, the doting mom bared her soul, sharing the ups and downs of her journey. Alongside a few photos capturing precious moments from the past few months, she wrote:
"On our way to the beach, I saw Jackson notice the signs to Pensacola, Florida, and began looking around without saying much to me. I noticed he was always watching my body language and facial expressions. He asked me if he could open the sunroof to "feel his papa's air. The hard decisions parents face daily are not talked about enough."
Continuing, she expressed the difficulty of trying to do what she believes is best for her son without knowing how it will all turn out, especially considering how much Jackson misses his grandparents. The single mom added that the 11-year-old even sends text messages to phones that Todd and Julie no longer have when she turns off his phone at night, which truly broke her heart.
"Knowing my decision regarding Jackson visiting my parents in the prison environment is based on what the court decides regarding their appeal is causing more heartache. I trust God has a plan," Lindsie further noted.
In closing, she stated that Jackson would eventually join her on her podcast so he can talk about what he has been up to while providing a safe space for him to share his feelings about his grandparents' incarceration.
