Queen Latifah Lauds Jamie Foxx Amid His Recovery From Health Scare: 'Jamie Is A Unicorn'

Queen Latifah has only good things to say about her fellow Hollywood colleague, Jamie Foxx, who recently suffered a health scare.

In an interview, she extolled his traits and mentioned that he is "secretly behind so many people's success in music, in Hollywood."

Foxx only recently made a public appearance after weeks of recuperating in a private facility in Chicago. In April, he suffered a medical emergency while filming his upcoming Netflix movie, "Back in Action."

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Latifah lauded Foxx for his charity work and other forms of benevolence he has dished out over the years.

She began by sharing with the publication that she is "praying hard" for him in light of his ongoing recovery at home from a health scare he experienced in April.

Moving on to his respectable traits, Latifah described the "Django Unchained" star as "one of the nicest people you've ever met" and that he is "secretly behind so many people's success in music, in Hollywood."

"Jamie is a unicorn,'" Latifah further gushed about her Hollywood colleague. "And if you aired a whole show on him, you'd be surprised how many people had been put on."

Although the actress cum singer didn't disclose whether Foxx had personally assisted her, she mentioned hearing numerous "kind stories" about him, especially regarding how he treats people who tour with him.

During the interview, Latifah also reflected on Foxx's drive, which has frequently led him to overwork himself in the past.

"I don't know how he found the energy to do the after parties after the shows, but I sure partied with him a couple times 'cause he'd be on the mic and singing," she remarked in admiration.

"I'd be like, 'You just did a whole two-hour show and you still at the club doing another [one]!'" Latifah continued.

Amid his recovery, Foxx reportedly threw a party at the rehabilitation facility in Chicago where he had been staying. The Oscar winner spent several weeks at the facility after he was moved there from a hospital in Atlanta amid his health scare.

Many of his loved ones, who supported him while he was out of commission, were in attendance at the party held over the weekend.

It comes after Foxx was sighted in public for the first time after several months of being away due to his health scare.

On July 9, eager onlookers spotted the "Back in Action" star enjoying a boat ride on the Chicago River with his friends. Decked out in an all-black ensemble and matching shades, he seemed thrilled to be back in public and waved to fans from the vessel.

That same day, he made a return to social media after taking a break since his last Instagram post, in which he shared his heartfelt appreciation to fans for their prayers and support while he was hospitalized.

In a tweet, he hinted that his earlier outing on the Chicago River had a connection to his liquor brand, Brown Sugar Bourbon brand.

Foxx penned, "Boat life, Celebrating summer with @brownsugarbbn, adding "Stay blessed!"

Some days after his first public outing since the health scare, the actor was spotted performing an act of goodwill.

A video of the actor returning a missing purse to its female owner while outside in Chicago went viral, further lending credence to the actor's kind nature.

"Mom lost her bag in Chicago today. Jamie fox [sic] found it and brought it to her, and he said he feel good. Y'all god is good," the purse owner's son captioned the video.

As of now, Foxx has not publicly addressed his health scare, and any future plans to do so remain unclear. Throughout his absence, his family chose to keep details about his illness confidential for undisclosed reasons.
