Normani Goes Instagram Official With Seahawks Receiver DK Metcalf After Months Of Dating Rumors

After months of rumors about Normani's alleged romance with Seattle Seahawks player DK Metcalf, she finally confirms that they are indeed in a relationship.

Speculations arose a while back when they were spotted at an outing together, and to address them, the multitalented entertainer went official with the NFL player on social media in the most adorable way imaginable.

Normani recently took to her Instagram Story with a lovely shot of herself in Metcalf's arms, proving they were dating.  The duo were all dressed up and photographed in a brightly lit hallway, with Metcalf kissing a grinning Normani on the cheek while his hands were on her waist. 

The 27-year-old star rocked a long black dress with a mesh corset detail, exposing her midsection, and she accessorized with a sparkling diamond necklace. Metcalf, whose full name is DeKaylin Zecharius "DK" Metcalf,  also wore black but opted for a suit with dress shorts rather than slacks.

Per Teen Vogue, the lovebirds were stylishly dressed for the sportsman's teammate and Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett's wedding, as seen in a post shared by Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos quarterback and former Seahawks player. 

Normani and her latest beau seemed to have had the time of their lives as they were filmed dancing together with the songstress holding an orange drink. About a month ago, the "Love Lies" singer, who has always been private about her love life, was spotted enjoying dinner with Metcalf at Giorgio Baldi in L.A, prompting rumors about their affair.

The New York Post reported that while they arrived at the eatery separately, they left together in the same car. At the time, Normani looked gorgeous in a mini black dress while the 24-year-old athlete donned jeans and a T-shirt underneath a pink jacket featuring several NBA team insignia. 

Their relationship status was uncertain at the time as they were believed to be single even after Metcalf wished the musician "Happy Birthday Beautiful" on her birthday in May via his Instagram Story.

Before getting involved with Metcalf, the Atlanta-born musician was said to have been dating backup dancer Rameer Colon which she confirmed in an interview with Houston 97.9 in August 2021.

She also reportedly had a thing with "The X Factor USA" contestant Arin Ray before Colon. However, they never addressed the gossip. Meanwhile, from May 2014 to October 2015, Normani was rumored to be in a relationship with Thomas Hansen, the cousin of Dinah Jane, a Fifth Harmony member.

Neither she nor Hansen publicly confirmed the speculations despite being spotted getting cozy in several since-deleted Instagram posts.

Normani once opened up in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2018 about her dating life, revealing that it connects to her song "Love Lies." She shared, "I know that there's been plenty of times I'll either be interested in someone, and it's like, 'OK, is this going to be reciprocated? Just dealing with that uncertainty."

The "Waves" vocalist believed it was important for women to "protect their hearts, protect themselves" so that whenever they fall in love, it would only be with "someone very special." She further touched on how her fame negatively affected her relationship, stressing that she never knew when to "fully commit to someone."

Normani added, "But also, it's scary because, with the success that I have now, it's like, 'what are your intentions? What's your motive?' But they've got to go through my family first, so. That's how I'll know."

As the "Wild Side" singer's love life seems to be advancing, the same is the case for her career. Normani is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming thriller "Freaky Tales," a film inspired by Ryan Fleck's childhood experience in the bay.

The movie, established in Oakland in 1987, is written and directed by Fleck and fellow "Captain Marvel" creator Anna Boden. It features four interrelated narratives with different characters, real-life locations, and significant historical events.

Entertainment One was reported to be the financier and co-producer of the production alongside MACRO Film Studio.

Besides Normani, other reputable stars included in the project are "The Year My Voice Broke" star Ben Mendelsohn, Pedro Pascal from "The Mandalorians," "Top Gun: Maverick" actor Jay Ellis, and Jack Champion "Scream 6." 

Dominique Thorne from "Black Panther," "Euphoria" star Angus Cloud, Keir Gilchrist "Atypical" and Michelle Farrah Huang will also make appearances in the film.
