Gymnast Nastia Liukin In Blue Bikini Says 'Offline Is The New Luxury'

Gymnast Nastia Liukin is having fun in the sun in her blue bikini!

The Russian-born former American artistic gymnast took to the beach to show off a few snaps in her blue bikini!

On Saturday night, the five-time Olympic champion took to Instagram to share a few photos that featured her lounging in the sun in her blue bikini that featured a checkered design. The checkered black-and-white fabric was surrounded by blue trim and covered with small blue and white flowers all over the fabric.

Although Nastia covered up her arms in a white knit sweater, her glowing summer tan was on full display, as was her toned abs. She wore her short blonde hair tied back behind her as she looked out at the sea through her angular sunglasses.

In another photo, the 2008 Olympic all-around champion stood up, showing off some of the beach behind her. She is pulling on the straps of her little bikini bottoms with both hands as she looked away from the camera. She complimented her look with plenty of jewelry, including stud earrings, two silver chain necklaces, and a few colorful beaded bracelets.

In the caption of her Instagram post, she wrote, "Offline is the new luxury." Fans were quick to praise her steamy bikini snaps. “Incredible,” one fan commented. “Great shots,” another follower wrote. “Cute suit,” a third fan chimed in. “California queen,” another follower shared. “You’re body is so amazing!!” another fan gushed. “Love seeing you happy and living your best life Nastia,” another follower wrote.

Although she retired from gymnastics in 2012, the 2005 World champion on the uneven bars has been keeping pretty busy. In late June, she spoke to Page Six at the Stagwell’s Sports Beach activation at the Cannes Lions Festival in South France. While she was there, she explained the advice that the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant gave her that helped her be successful in her career after gymnastics.

“He always said that, ‘You have this idea in your head that you’re the girl in the pink leotard and the scrunchie — and you are so much more than that,’” she explained. After retiring from gymnastics, she launched a clothing line, a skincare line, and developed herself as an influencer with over a million followers on Instagram.

“He helped me believe [in myself] because he’s like, ‘If you don’t believe that, who else is going to believe that?’” she recalled. “[Gymnastics is] not something that defines me. And I think realizing that it’s something I can be proud of… but it’s like a job title or a relationship, those things don’t define who we are as humans.”

Nastia also participated in a Cannes Lions panel titled “Axios Presents: Women in Sports Broadcasting and the Road to 2024,” featuring several esteemed female sportscasters including NBC Sports’ Maria Taylor and ESPN’s Holly Rowe, among others.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old athlete reunited with her best friend, Shawn Johnson, who recently announced that she is expecting her third child. Nastia looked stunning in a plunging pink “Barbie’ gown that glittered as she walked, while Shawn rocked a strapless blue dress and cradled her growing baby bump.

“We used to create countdowns together - two teenagers patiently waiting for the day we got to wrap up another training camp or competition… yes we even had one at the Olympics,” Nastia wrote in the caption. “Our countdowns look a little different these days… and perhaps even more exciting than an Olympic countdown… here’s to our next countdown of another double date night and another baby shower.”

The two women competed together in the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Team USA. Although Nastia won gold for the individual all-around event and Shawn took home silver, the two have remained close friends throughout the years. In 2019, Good Morning America reported that Nastia was named the godmother of Shawn’s daughter, Drew Hazel.
