The nominations for the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards have finally been announced. However, one notable snub from the nominations list was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's famous Netflix documentary series, "Harry & Meghan."

The show was widely successful when it premiered in December 2022 and garnered an estimated 81.6 million hours of views. Despite that success, the documentary failed to get a nod for any Emmy awards, which according to royal expert Ingrid Seward, was a big disappointment for the couple.

Seward, the current editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, spoke to the Mirror about the Emmy snub. She claimed Harry and Meghan are "devastated" about the snub but won't "show it" to the world. She also claimed that the documentary's viewership numbers obviously weren't "good enough for an Emmy nomination."

Seward also discussed the viral documentary itself and said Harry and Meghan spoke about the rest of the British royal family like "they were the enemy." She described the series as the couple's way of sharing an "intimate look at 'hardships' they faced in their honey-colored, rose-tinted world."

The royal expert further claimed that Harry and Meghan would try to make the situation "positive" despite their irritation at not being nominated. The "Queen's Speech" author then shared some advice for the couple amid the "run of bad luck in their working life."

She said, "Ironically, as long as they concentrate on delivering personal stuff instead of more serious work, people will be interested. They have built a gilded cage of expectation around themselves from which it will be hard to escape."

Harry and Meghan's loss at the Emmys is just one of several disappointments they've faced recently. The former senior royals recently confirmed the end of their $20 million deal with streaming giant Spotify.

Markle ran the first season of her viral "Archetypes" podcast with Spotify and had guests like Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, Serena Williams, and Issa Rae. However, the podcast wasn't renewed for Season 2 with the streaming platform, which was a major blow. Thankfully, the couple still have their $100 million deal with Netflix, which will have them creating multiple shows and content.

Two more Royal experts have also recently spoken about the couple's entertainment projects. Angela Levin and Richard Fitzwilliams spoke to The Sun and claimed that Harry and Meghan's value in the industry "isn't as high as it once was."

Fitzwilliams shaded the former senior royals and said their Spotify contract ending was a "shocking failure." He said, "The idea was that several series would be produced. Since only one was, there's no doubt the contract could be considered a failure. Clearly this relationship hasn't been as mutually beneficial."

According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, Harry has quickly tired of Hollywood and the entertainment industry. Alison Boshoff wrote about his time in the industry wrapping up soon and said Harry was "obviously ill-suited" for the show-business life."

She noted, "The big question is how long before Harry turns his back on the show-business life, for which he is obviously ill-suited and seems entirely uncomfortable with? In truth, Harry never really wanted to be a podcaster or a TV executive. He didn't want to be the pepper to Meghan's salt."

The reports have been given weight by Harry's recent moves in charity and campaigns, which he was into before he left Britain. The Duke is reportedly working on a solo documentary in several African communities, which is similar to the work his mother, the late Princess Diana, was involved in.
