In an interview with People magazine, Jordan opened up about his fitness journey as he approaches the end of his hiatus from the film industry.

The actor took the break following fulfilling his press commitments for the boxing thriller "Creed III," the third installment in the Creed franchise.

For the role, Jordan had to look a particular way, which could only be achieved by a strict workout regimen controlled by his personal trainers and other hired specialists.

Without having those commitments holding him back, the 36-year-old is paving his own path in the gym.

"At this point I know what works for me and what doesn't, now, it's just about being consistent," Jordan told the publication.

He added, "Coming off of the movie and the press tour, it was very stressful so I took a little break. I'm at the end of my hiatus right now, so I'm getting ready to actually get back into shape now."

Jordan also mentioned that a key part of how he stays in shape is "eating consistently."

"Eating consistently is something that I found really helps change your body. Dieting, intermittent fasting, there's different approaches to it," the actor said.

He went on to explain that his preferred concept was to see his body as a "fire" that "every so often you gotta keep throwing logs [food]" into, and "eventually your body will start to burn off the fat that's been stored up."

These days, he is focused on "finding a healthy balance of just breaking a sweat," which doesn't have to include gym activities. He also tries to live healthily by skipping late-night meals, drinking a lot more water, and keeping to "baseline fitness."

"At one point I was doing probably 300 pushups and 200 sit-ups throughout the day," Jordan said. "So at the end of the day, I gotta at least hit my number, and that kind of keeps you tight."

He Battles With A 'Fear Of Failure'

Having risen this far to the top of the acting industry, Jordan knows he has no choice but to stay in shape, which makes him battle with a "fear of failure."

He said, "A lot of people, if they don't meet their goals, nobody knows about it. For me, if I don't meet my goals, that's gonna be a poster on Sunset that says, 'Mike didn't meet his f**king goals.'"

He then revealed that he tries to stay motivated by involving his friends in his fitness journey. This involvement often transforms into a friendly competition among them, further fueling their drive.

"We bet a lot on anything. We'll bet pushups, you know, if you lose a bet, you'll owe however many pushups and stuff like that," the "Black Panther" star shared. "And we've been keeping that up for a really long time."

As for his love life, the actor was previously in a relationship with Lori Harvey, the daughter of media personality Steve Harvey.

The two split up in June last year after more than a year of being together.

Despite being single since then, Jordan revealed in February that he is not in a hurry to get hitched and wants to "try to be responsible" for the next person he dates.

"Of course I think about it, but I definitely want to try to be responsible with that, knowing how I wanted to be as present as possible," he said in a feature interview with Rolling Stone.

He added, "It's gonna happen when it's supposed to happen. "
