Jennifer Hudson & Common Are Reportedly Dating OFFICIALLY After They Were Spotted On A 'Romantic Weekend'

Jennifer Hudson and Common have reportedly made their romance official. The couple was recently spotted on a "romantic weekend" in London per the Daily Mail, and visited the Barbican Theatre. They watched Hudson's new musical "A Strange Loop" and posed with the cast members for pictures after the performance.

Romance rumors started after they went on multiple dinner dates, and she wished him a happy birthday. Hudson co-produced "A Strange Loop," which has now won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The singer called the play a "masterpiece" and praised writer Michael R. Jackson.

According to the Daily Mail, Jennifer Hudson and Common were recently spotted on a romantic weekend in London. Their trip seemingly confirmed rumors of the duo's romance, which started months ago. Both celebrities have remained silent on the status of their relationship in multiple interviews but have now seemingly gone public.

Common and Hudson visited the Barbican Theatre during their London stay to watch her new hit Broadway musical. The singer and actress was one of the producers that worked on "A Strange Loop." After the performance, the couple posed with the cast members for pictures and videos.

Insiders spoke to the Daily Mail about the couple's visit to the Barbican, revealing that they were together at the event despite them arriving separately. A source shared with the news outlet that Common and Hudson "have been trying to keep their relationship low-profile."

They said, "There has been speculation for months regarding whether or not they are together, but the fact they've traveled all the way to London together just shows they're very much an item. They arrived at the show individually to avoid any commotion but away from prying eyes, they were very much in each other's company."

Hudson and Common have been close friends for many years. They both star in the upcoming film, "Breathe," which is just one of Common's many film credits. He's featured in series like "Silo" and "Never Have I Ever." He's also a Golden Globe-winning musician and has an extensive discography.

The rumors of Common and Hudson's romance started some months ago after they went on multiple dinner dates. During a recent appearance on Today, Common dodged questions about their relationship.

In an attempt to evade questions about a romance between them, he said, "I'll say, speaking of Chicago, she's a Chicagoan, this amazing human being — I've always been inspired by her. She's one of the most beautiful people I ever met on the planet. Incredible heart and she's just dope, man."

The "Selma" actor further said it's been an honor for him to watch Hudson "evolve" from "an actress and singing like just doing so many things and now her talk show." Common said that Hudson has been "inspiring" to him and shared that he's "grateful to know her."

The romance rumors intensified when Hudson wished Common a happy 51st birthday on Instagram. The former coach of "The Voice UK" has been single since she split from David Otunga in 2017, with whom she shares a son, David Daniel Otunga Jr. Common, on the other hand, was recently in a relationship with actress and comedienne, Tiffany Haddish. 

Hudson co-produced "A Strange Loop" with Billy Porter, Alan Cumming, Ilana Glazer, and Mindy Kaling. The Broadway show was written by Michael R. Jackson and has now won a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It is the first musical to win the award since "Hamilton."

According to the Daily Mail, "'A Strange Loop' follows Usher, a young, gay, black writer who dislikes his job, and decides to write a musical about a character, inspired by himself, who is also writing a musical… 'a strange loop'".

Hudson recently spoke about the show and called it a "masterpiece." The EGOT winner also praised the writer, "Michael R. Jackson's talent and dedication to his craft is truly inspiring, and I am honored to have watched the incredible Barbican cast bring this story to the London stage."
