Gymnast Nastia Liukin Takes A Cold Plunge In Her ‘Barbie’ Pink Swimsuit

Gymnast Nastia Liukin is taking some time out for self-care this weekend!

The Russian-born former American artistic gymnast shared a video over the weekend that featured her about to take a cold plunge in the pool. And, to celebrate the upcoming release of the new "Barbie" movie, of course, she had to wear pink!

On Saturday afternoon, the five-time Olympic medalist took to Instagram to share a video that focused on her embracing some much-needed self-care after her trip around Europe. She begins the video by closing her laptop, giving fans a view of a candle burning on her desk and the gorgeous scenery beyond the glass walls that lay beyond.

After she blows out the candle, she opens the bottom drawer of her dresser, which is filled with dozens of different colorful bikinis and swimsuits. Nastia grabs a pink swimsuit and heads into the closet to put it on, giving fans a rear view of her back muscles and her new short haircut. She then heads outside into the pool, where she stands looking at the crystal clear blue water and embracing the warm sunshine.

After stretching her arms, Nastia pauses for a moment and then hops into the tub to take a cold plunge. She takes a deep breath, lets it in and out, and then hops out. She did not add any music to the video, although fans can hear birds chirping in the background throughout the duration of her cold plunge. “Reset and recharge – we all need a little TLC to keep our tanks full! What are you doing to fill up your cup this weekend?” she asked in the caption, along with the hashtags #coldplunge and #wellnessthatworks. One fan commented, “Spending time with the dogs!”

“A gold plunge is essential in Texas,” another follower wrote, referring to the heat wave they are currently experiencing in the south. “You are one sexy lady,” a third fan gushed. “I like your sexy little XS pink bikini,” another follower wrote. “That’s an awesome weekend relaxing,” another fan chimed in while another follower called her video “cool.”

Although the 2005 and 2007 World champion on the balance beam has been pretty shy about sharing the identity of her boyfriend Ben, he does make an appearance in many of her videos. He appeared in her latest Instagram video alongside certified celebrity fitness trainer Kira Stokes, who has been training Nastia for a while now.

The trio headed onto a rooftop balcony to do a few exercises, which included a series of squats before they all turned to perform lunges with one leg back on the chairs behind them, which is also known as a Bulgarian split squat. All three seemed to be working out in sync and doing the same moves before Nastia decided to start demonstrating her flexibility and her gymnastic prowess by kicking her back foot up into the air behind her. Even Ben tried to do it at Kira's encouragement, but he isn’t quite able to achieve the same amount of height that Nastia is due to years of stretching!

“Pov: the moment you can *finally* challenge your trainer and boyfriend during a workout,” she wrote in the caption, tagging Kira and Ben in the post. She finished off her caption with the hashtag #gymnastics. Kira commented, “The zoom in on my face says it all - the new ‘Nastia’ - RFESS w/ring kick…and I’m the modifier…” Nastia replied, “Hahaha the best part.”
