Juvenile Finally Gets A Tiny Desk Show

;

A few months back, fans were pleading with NPR to let Juvenile perform some of his classics in the room. Did they ever think it would happen? Nope, but here we are getting an all-strings version of "Back That Azz Up."

The room was full of that New Orleans energy as the rapper was hyped up by Manny Fresh, who got on the piano and played the damn thing at one point. The instruments accompanying the rapper were trumpets, saxophones, rhythmic guitars, etc.

The backup singers wore the khaki jumper the rapper made popular in his day. And we would be remiss if we didn't mention that he looked happy, healthy, and comfortable performing again.

The rapper did something special with all the tracks he performed. He slowed down "Rodeo" and added sultry backup singers. The rough lyrics matched against the sweet, melodic beat; it's an undeniable combo. "Nah, Juvenile doing Rodeo for Tiny Desk is ART," wrote a fan of the show he put on.

The duo performed their hit "I Need A Hot Girl" and lit up the tiny room. Everyone was bouncing and jamming along. The moment is quickly chalking up to be just as epic as Usher's Tiny Desk appearance almost one year ago.

"For Tiny Desk to make me Set It Off on Friday!! @juviethegreat did what needed to be done in a Burberry fit with the Soulja Rag! I needed all this! ?," praised one fan.

Another fan took to Twitter to agree. "Wait, Juvenile's NPR Tiny Desk is what my entire life is about today. His phrasing, diction, and ability to rock with a live band reminded me that these people are descendants of second lines."

That well-known intro when she picked at those strings ahead of the rapper performing "Back That Azz U, " the violinist knew what she was doing. She smiled, and the crowd got loud instantly. Even Manny Fresh looked surprised and excited simultaneously as if he didn't know the order of the setlist.

That song will do that to you. "Yoooooo. The Juvenile did NOT come to play with you all on this Tiny Desk. I just watched Back That Azz Up with STRINGS. Yea, man. This is a Top 5 TINY DESK performance. Period."

Manny Fresh teased fans at one point, making them believe that "Go DJ" was next. He plays a few notes on the piano, and the Juvenile yelled "go DJ" the crowd went wild, but they stopped there.

"The way Mannie Fresh teased "Go DJ" on Tiny Desk almost had me lose it. Juveniles ain't have to snap on "Set it off" like this."
