Get out your pen and journal because Dolly Parton is spilling the tea on her age-defying fitness formula.
She has been an icon of talent and charm for decades, captivating hearts with her timeless music and dazzling performances. Now, the legendary superstar is ready to spill the beans on the well-guarded secret that has kept her in excellent shape for an incredible 77 years!
Dolly Parton Is Not A Fan Of Exercise
The renowned country star recently appeared in London to promote her latest rock album, a stunning collaboration featuring music legends Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John. Despite the buzz surrounding her new musical venture, the "Jolene" crooner revealed she would not embark on any tours soon.
Alongside her musical schedule, she took time to share her secrets to stay in shape, which is refreshingly honest! With a dash of humor, she revealed that her fitness regime involves minimal exercise, relying on "good doctors," and a flexible low-carb diet that allows her to indulge her inner "hog at heart." In her words:
"I hate exercise, like I hated school. I watch my diet the best I can. I try and do low carb but if I see something I want to eat, I eat it, as I am a hog at heart. But exercise, I hate, hate, hate. I just do my diddly squats."
Despite her distaste for exercise, Dolly maintains her health with a dose of determination and numerous musical commitments. One is her collaboration with Sir Elton for a powerful rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," which he performed at the Glastonbury festival during a masterclass set. She said about the performance:
"I did catch some of that on the news. I have loved Elton for years; we are very similar in how we are over the top with everything."
The "Coat of Many Colors" singer emphasized how well their voices harmonized, noting the British star's excitement to sing on her album. She also revealed that he invited her to be on his next project – an offer she readily accepted.
However, despite the eagerness around her new record, featuring a mix of nine original songs and 21 beloved rock anthems, the actress decided against touring. Her heart remains in Nashville, Tennessee, where she cherishes being close to her loving husband, Carl, and their lovely home.
According to the songwriter: "The reason why I don't tour now is because I don't want to be away from home, we are all getting older, my husband and I, and I have a lot of business I do at home.." Enthusiastically, the "Joyful Noise" star unveiled her plans for the future, hinting at a potential Broadway musical centered around her extraordinary life, slated for next year.
Besides that, she expressed her desire to work on a gospel album, sharing her deep love for being creative and busy. With her boundless energy, she playfully remarked, "I love to work. I would be dangerous if I didn't have things to do; I have very high energy."
The 'Rhinestone' Star Set To Release A Rock And Roll Album
After getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2022 — despite her initial refusal — the "Lonely Coming Down" singer took to Instagram to reveal her upcoming rock and roll album titled "Rockstar." She shared the album's vibrant cover art alongside the caption that read:
"I'm a rockstar now! My new album 'Rockstar' is coming November 17th and is available for pre-order. Let's rock and roll."
The upcoming album is an epic musical masterpiece, boasting 30 tracks and a star-studded lineup of current and veteran musicians. It features diverse talents, including Parton's goddaughter Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Ritchie Sambora, Ringo Starr, Debbie Harry, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, John Fogerty, Ann Wilson, and Kid Rock.
