Kim Cattrall is finally breaking the ice about her highly-publicized and anticipated "And Just Like That…" return.
The HBO series' first installment left die-hard original "Sex and the City" fans yearning for more, so for the currently airing season of the reboot, which began last week, the network decided to up their game with the return of Cattrall's character, Samantha Jones.
Not much has been reported about her upcoming appearance except that her character will have a phone call with Carrie [Sarah Jessica Parker] in the season finale. However, as the actress gears up to make her big comeback, she recently broke her relative silence about what led to her return.

The 66-year-old actor and her co-star Parker had an infamous falling out in the lead-up to the Michael Patrick King series, and once Cattrall maintained she would not be working with her former SATC crew. However, that is all about to change with the second season underway, and even Cattrall's confession on why she is making a comeback put things in perspective.
On June 28, the one-time Golden Globe winner stopped by "The View" to promote her new Netflix series "Glamorous," giving the host Alyssa Farah Griffin a moment during the interview to ask what Cattrall could share about her upcoming cameo.
She revealed, "Well, it is exciting to get a call from the head of HBO… saying, 'What can we do?'" In a mischievous tone, she continued, "I went, 'Hmmm, Let me get creative," before sharing one of her critical conditions for the team. The "Rosebud" actress revealed:
"One of those things was to get Pat Field back. Because I just thought, you know, if I'm gonna come back, I gotta come back in that Samantha style; I gotta push it. And we did."
Patricia Field is the iconic costume designer behind the legendary Sex and the City wardrobe across its six seasons.

After a clip from Cattrall's appearance on "The View" was shared on the talk show's Twitter feed, fans had much to say. "Samantha is what makes SATC, HBO knows that," one fan said, as another added, "HBO knew season 2 is worse the season 1, and they needed Kim to save it." "Good for you, Kim! 👏🏽," a third fan praised.
One other Twitter user also wrote, "Only Samantha Jones would get a direct call from the head of HBO asking what THEY could do to get HER back. Wow. A real power move indeed. #AndJustLikeThat[the show’s icon]."
The Blast previously shared that the "Hold-Up" actress confirmed her return to the show less than 24 hours after it broke. The blonde beauty shared Variety's article," 'Sex and the City' Shocker: Kim Cattrall To Return as Samantha Jones with 'And Just Like That' cameo."
She sent out the June 1st post with a caption that read, "Happy Pride 🏳️🌈🌈," and very shortly, famous fans rushed to the comments to rejoice over Cattrall's confirmation! The "Everything Iconic" podcast host Danny Pellegrino remarked, "❤️🙌 thank you!!!! Katie Couric wrote, "YES QUEEEEEN 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌." Kris Jenner commented, "FABULOUS!!!!!! 💛🧡❤️.”
Variety's report stated that Cattrall would only appear in one scene, and it would be a phone conversation between the powerful publicist Samantha, who moved to London, and Parker's Carrie Bradshaw.
She recorded her dialogue without seeing or speaking to her former co-stars, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and even AJLT's show-runner Michael Patrick King.

Parker called her co-star's comeback "really fun and exciting" and "nostalgic," the very adjective fans love to hear. The "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" star further said:
"We've been thoughtful about how we've, you know, approached characters that hadn't been around, the ways we have invited actors back, and it's been, you know, enjoyable and exciting and certainly nostalgic, but I think more than that, it's been a lot of joy."
