Cameron Diaz Is 'Shocked And Saddened' By Jamie Foxx's Health Status
According to People magazine, Diaz is "shocked and saddened" by Foxx's health crisis, which has left many uncertain about whether he will make a full recovery.
The duo recently worked together on the set of Netflix's upcoming movie "Back in Action." Foxx had helped convince Diaz to sign up for a part in the film, ending her nine-year hiatus from acting.
However, towards the end of production, Foxx suffered a "medical complication," leaving Diaz to star in the rest of the unfinished scenes alongside a stand-in for him.
"One day they were working together, and the next he was just gone," a source said about Foxx, who was reported to have suffered the health crisis off-set.
The source also noted that Diaz has been unable to be there for her friend in his time of need due to Foxx's family being so tightlipped about the entire situation.
"She wanted to be supportive and help out in any way, but his family has kept his status very quiet," the insider continued.
Cameron Diaz Is Yet To Speak To Jamie Foxx Since He Was Hospitalized
The recent report comes after a close friend of Diaz revealed that the actress had not spoken to Foxx since the start of his crisis.
Per the Daily Mail, the source shared that the only information the 50-year-old actress has about the situation is limited to what she has heard, perhaps in the media or from close associates.
Despite wrapping up her filming commitments for "Back In Action," the actress "has not signed on for another film and is not currently taking any new scripts."
As her close pal noted, the upcoming movie might have a hand in it, while the actress isn't open to new work. They said of Diaz, "Honestly, she is not sure what is going on with Back In Action and isn't very proud of it, considering there was so much drama even before Jamie was hospitalized."
Cameron Diaz Feels 'Guilty' About On-Set Issues With Jamie Foxx
Part of the drama referenced by Diaz's close pal was the actress' desire not to be inundated by back-to-back 10-hour workdays and being away from her daughter Maddix, whom she shares with her husband, Benjamin Madden.
Frequently, Diaz and Foxx would get into heated arguments on set, with the actor even having a major meltdown on one occasion that then led to the firing of several staff members.
According to an insider, the duo did not sort out their issues before Foxx was hospitalized, which has left Diaz feeling guilty. "Cameron feels a tremendous sense of guilt now about their quarrels since she has not been able to make amends," the insider shared, per Daily Mail.
While several on-set issues did not lead to the breakdown of production, post-production of the show has faced "major setbacks," which has made Diaz unsure about the future of the project.
Jamie Foxx's Health Is Status Still Unknown
In the meantime, the status of Foxx's health has remained unclear to the public at large due to his family keeping mum about the situation.
However, sometime last month, Corrine took to her Instagram Story to share that the "Django" star was out of the hospital and is now "recuperating" in a private facility.
Corrine also clarified that there was no damage to Foxx's physical ability, slamming rumors that had swirled online.
"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support," Corrine posted, as reported by The Blast.
