The OceanGate's submersible, Titan, caused a stir after five brave passengers embarked on the vessel to visit the remains of the Titanic. Since news of their disappearance surfaced, Complex reported that the blonde beauty's famous song had gone viral.

"My Heart Will Go On" became Dion's anthem after the soundtrack was released for James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film "Titanic." The emotional melody has allegedly racked up significant numbers on Spotify because of the submersible tragedy.

According to reports, the theme song had garnered over 500,000 streams on the music platform since the search and rescue effort for the OceanGate's vessel concluded on a sad note.

The death of the passengers was confirmed shortly after debris from the underwater craft was discovered. Following the pitiful end of bright lives, the "Titanic" filmmaker aired his grievances against OceanGate for seemingly causing this disaster. Lamenting about the organization's negligence in an interview, Cameron claimed:

"People in the community were very concerned about this sub. A number of the top players in the deep submergence engineering community even wrote letters to the company."

According to the award-winning Canadian producer, these experts warned the submersible expedition providers that "what they were doing was too experimental to carry passengers and that it needed to be certified." Comparing this ill-fated incident to that of the 1912 Titanic sinking, the 68-year-old continued:

"I’m struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship, and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night, and many people died as a result."

The Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree was not the only celebrity who weighed in on the submarine disaster as Joy Behar gave her unfiltered opinions about the issue. During an episode of "The View," the co-host echoed similar sentiments to Cameron, linking the incident to the Titanic.

According to the 80-year-old, both tragedies were caused by the "stupidity" of humans. "It’s interesting because the Titanic itself went down because of human incompetence and stupidity on the part of, according to the movies, hubris, and the same with this," the mother of one claimed.

"That’s the irony of it. They’re going to see the same thing is happening to them. It’s very sad and scary," Behar added. On the other hand, one of the media personality's co-hosts, Alyssa Farah Griffin, hoped this ordeal would curb the adventurous nature of others.

The 34-year-old also wanted OceanGate Inc. to be legally punished for endangering others. However, another panelist, Sunny Hostin, explained the organization would probably escape scot-free. The legal expert explained the passengers had signed a waiver warning them about their possible demise.

The Countdown To Oxygen Depletion Intensified The Search & Rescue Attempts

Days earlier, rescuers increased their efforts to save the lives of the Titan submersible's passengers as their oxygen reserve was close to depletion. The United States Coast Guard has been leading an extensive hunt for the OceanGate's craft since the vessel's disappearance on Sunday, June 18.

The search team's efforts skyrocketed after hearing underwater noises on Tuesday, June 20, and again on Wednesday, June 21. Although experts could not identify the cause of the sound, rescuers hoped it could be a signal from the submarine.

However, the little ray of hope was not enough to break through the dark clouds of impending doom as the passengers were out of time. A US Coast Guard representative revealed the craft's oxygen was expected to finish at 7:08 AM US Eastern time — 9:08 PM Sydney and 12:08 PM UK time — on June 22.

The countdown to oxygen depletion intensified the search and rescue attempts as the British Navy, USCG, French, and Canadian teams picked up the pace. More vessels and ships were rushed to the disappearance site, hoping to find the five passengers in time.
