Alyssa Scott Reveals She Thinks Of Late Son Zen Whenever She Is 'Present Enough'
Friday, June 23, marked the birth of "Drumline" actor's seventh child, an occasion the multi-hyphenate star's partner celebrated with a touching tribute. Taking to her Instagram page, the Texas beauty shared a stunning picture of herself with her late son.
The black-and-white snap, presumably taken shortly after the "Love Don't Cost A Thing" star's son was born, captured the internet personality rocking a black outfit with her waves of messy curls packed into a high bun.
A few tendrils framed the entertainer's face; however, the doting mother was unbothered by the tuft of hair as she stared lovingly at her baby. The picture, tagged "6/23/21," showed Zen sleeping in a bassinet as a newborn.
The mother and son appeared to be in a hospital room, given the medical equipment in the background and the identity tag on Scott's tattooed wrist. The adorable snap was captioned with the heartbreaking reminder of the little boy's death.
Commemorating what would have been Zen's second birthday, the former "Wild 'N Out" star noted her late son frequently came to mind whenever she did certain things. The media personality wrote:
"Happy heavenly birthday Zen. When I get present enough, when I do what feels honest and true.. Somehow the moment always leads me right to you."
"The girls and I were able to see you in so many ways today. We love you for eternity. 6/23," the Texas native concluded her message, adding a white heart emoji. The entertainer has two daughters; she welcomed her oldest, Zeela, from a previous relationship before meeting Cannon.
Scott's youngest daughter, Halo Marie Cannon, arrived a year after her older brother's death. Earlier in January, the mother of three raved about her little girl's resemblance to her late son in a series of heartwarming posts on her Instagram Story.
One of the snaps featured a collage of Halo, flaunting her cuteness for the camera in four precious shots. The baby donned a cream top with green shorts and a matching green headband. Paying tribute to Zen, the influencer captioned the image: "Hi sweet girl," adding, "Definitely Zen's little sis."
More updates showed the mother and daughter outdoors, with Scott cradling Halo in her arms while smiling at the little angel. In a second video, the model was seated on some steps, carefully rocking her daughter in her lap.
The duo was enveloped by lush greenery, palm trees swaying in the background, and colorful purple flowers dancing near the Texas native's feet. The doting mother was all smiles in the clip, a joy she confirmed in her caption, writing: "Happy mama – happy halo."
Alyssa Scott Opened Up About Her Plans For Marriage And The Possibility Of More Children
Months before celebrating her son's posthumous birthday, the internet personality became candid about her life and what the future entailed. During a Q&A session with fans on her Instagram Story, someone queried the influencer about her plans for marriage.
In response, the "School Dance" actor's partner shared a video filmed inside a car. "I like this question. I am not opposed to marriage. I have watched my parents have a successful marriage for about 33-plus years," the entertainer revealed.
Scott added that she liked the idea of a union and admired people who could commit to each other regardless of obstacles. "So yeah, I can't sit here and rule it out. Who knows," the model chimed, seemingly hinting she would cross that bridge when she was ready.
When asked if she wanted more children, the Texas beauty laughed before responding, "More kids? What are you guys trying to do to me?" On a more serious note, the mother of three stated she would not be popping out new children "for another ten years."
