The Brit Award Winner Got Candid About The New Mom Experience After Dealing With Fertility Issues

A few days before the "Bang Bang" singer celebrated her son's six weeks on Earth, she emotionally opened up about her painful experiences trying to have a child. The English singer first uploaded a video compilation capturing beautiful moments she and Colman shared with their son. The video was set to her 2018 hit song, "Four letter words."

In the caption, the 35-year-old mom lengthily recalled her past fertility issues. She began the caption by narrating that her challenges inspired the 2018 song. Jessie explained, "I wrote this song years after being told I couldn't have children in 2014. In 2015 I was told I needed a hysterectomy to cure the pain I felt most days. I said no, thank you."

The Grammy nominee opted to use her diet instead of adhering to her doctor's opinions and "took a spiritual healing journey." She continued detailing that she was hopeful, even after her miscarriage, and it kept her from falling into despair.

She expressed, "In 2021, I lost a baby, but I never gave up hope. Ever. Not once. I hope that whatever way I become a mother will always come to me at the right time. Naturally or not. I wanted to have a baby…."

Thankfully, fate brought her baby to her as a surprise during her journey to Rio, Brazil, in September 2022. The English songwriter discovered she was pregnant at the airport, stating she "fell pregnant in the Sky."

Who I am as an artist is who I am in my life. Being a Mum is now a massive part of my identity and existence, and I will celebrate it at every chance I get."
