Maksim Chmerkovskiy Relishes Life As 'Father Of Two' In 'New Favorite Pic'

Maksim Chmerkovskiy loves his newest fatherhood role and has all our attention!

The Ukrainian-American has been over the moon since his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, gave birth to their rainbow son, Rio John, on June 18, which coincided with this year's Father's Day. In his latest social media post, he unveiled the photo that beat out several others to become his favorite, and his fans were equally impressed by it.

Although it has been less than a week since he became a second-time father, we can understand Chmerkovskiy's excitement. He and Murgatroyd, who have had difficulty getting pregnant again, suffered multiple miscarriages before they decided to try IVF last year.

As luck would have it, the first round of the treatment worked, and they shared the good news with their fans in January. With the energy both parties exhibited during the pregnancy, it quickly became evident that the lovebirds would be more forthcoming when the baby finally arrived.

And true to form, the new parents have dropped frequent updates featuring their baby boy on their social media pages. A prime example would be Chmerkovskiy's recent post, which included a picture of the newborn sleeping in his father's arms while his big brother, Shai Aleksander, looked on from the side.

While the overjoyed six-year-old matched his dad's shirtless upper body, he covered his bottom half with colorful shorts. He also placed his head on his 43-year-old father's arm and lightly touched Rio's body with his right hand.

As for his dad, the choreographer covered his bottom half with a white duvet and protected some parts of his naked chest with a white blanket with blue-and-red stripes. His happiness could be seen as he smiled at the camera and basked in the moment.

"New favorite pic of all time! Father of two," the dad-of-two captioned the sweet image, adding, "Est 2017" and "#MadeInPeta," referencing his wife of five years.

Fans of the Latin–ballroom dance champion showered compliments and praises in the comments section. "Shai looks so happy and mesmerized by his new brother! A new generation of Chmerkovskiy brothers!!! ?❤️ congrats Max and Peta, on your beautiful family!" one fan enthusiastically exclaimed

A second fan concurred, "Shai's face is so precious," and a third chimed, "Congratulations, Maks. Your full and happy heart is in your smile." A fourth person claimed, "This is the most beautiful picture. I love this," and a fifth noted, "Big brother is SO happy. So is Papa. But dang Shai is cute."

Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd announced Rio's birth with a statement posted to the former's Instagram page. The new parents hid the tot's face by blurring it out and expressed how they felt through the Etta James' song, "At Last," playing in the background.

The loving father stared lovingly at his second son, wrapped in a blue blanket and sporting a white polo shirt, a satisfied smile, and ruffled hair. As The Blast observed, he wrote in the caption, "Happy Father's Day!"

Just before the Dance Team USA founder became a proud papa for the second time, he disclosed how his hormonal wife reacted to him leaving the house. Per The Blast, he uploaded an image of him kissing a heavily pregnant Murgatroyd and holding an impatient Shai from behind on Instagram. 

He explained through the caption that he was traveling to Napa for "Tech Week" at JaM Cellars Ballroom, which meant Shai would be holding down the home front during his absence.

Chmerkovskiy then claimed that his partner was "in tears. As per usual," adding, "Sometimes she tears up when I go to get groceries, so this is a big one." "Me: I'm gooooooood! Also, me: [sobbing and listening to @sade for the entire 6-hour drive] ???," the "Sway: A Dance Trilogy" performer wrapped up. 

The Instagram post received nearly 50k likes, with several netizens trooping into the comments to drop their two cents. One netizen crowned the trio "the perfect family," and another commented, "Love how your little boy is holding his mom's belly and protecting his future sibling. So cute!"

Meanwhile, a third person took Murgatroyd's side, writing, "I would cry, too, if I were close to giving birth while my husband goes on a work trip!"
