Doctors Have Extended Amanda Bynes' Psychiatric Hold
According to TMZ, Amanda Bynes' doctors have extended her psychiatric hold by a week minimum while they work on her medication. The actress entered the warehouse a few months after being released from a three-week stay at a mental health facility.
The actress's latest "cycle of repeated breakdowns" has worried her friends and family. The family told the news outlet that Bynes is fine when she's on her medication regularly but begins to spiral once she stops using her drugs.
While Bynes was under her mother Lynn's conservatorship, she was mandated to take her medication regularly and hardly had mental health breakdowns. However, now that she's legally free, Bynes alone is responsible for taking her drugs.
Amanda Bynes Called The Police On Herself
A source for TMZ revealed how Bynes was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation. They stated that the "What A Girl Wants" star called the police on herself by reporting to 911 that there was a woman in distress.
Bynes was arrested outside her home after the police responded to her 911 call. After her medical evaluation at the station, the actress was established as "a danger to herself and others" and was immediately placed on a psychiatric hold.
According to eyewitnesses of the arrest, Bynes was very calm while the police were talking with her. However, they claimed to the news outlet that she looked very "defeated as they dealt with her" and led her into the police car.
She Was Recently Placed In A Facility
Only a few months ago, Bynes was under watch at a mental health facility because she was wandering the streets naked. According to eyewitness accounts, per The Blast, the actress spoke to multiple people on the road and even called 911 to get help.
Bynes reportedly hailed a cab and informed the driver that she was suffering from a psychotic episode. On getting to a police station, the actress was placed under a 72-hour psych hold, later extended while her doctors created a treatment plan.
After about three weeks, Bynes and the staff at the facility determined that she was no longer a danger to herself. She reportedly felt ready to return to everyday life and entered an outpatient treatment program.
A source told the Daily Mail, "Amanda has left the medical facility on her recognizance. She was very cooperative and participated in her recovery. The staff supported her decision to leave as she had completed the treatment program."
Amanda Bynes Has Been Advised To Stay Away From Her Ex-fiancé
Bynes was under a conservatorship for nine years, which lasted from 2013 to 2022. According to a TMZ report, the actress's parents don't want another conservatorship as she'd been handling independence well before her mental health breakdown in March.
A source revealed to Daily Mail that Bynes had been advised by doctors to "distance herself" from her ex-fiancé, Paul Michael. They explained that Bynes' friends and family are convinced that the former couple's split significantly affected the breakdown. They also believe Michael is "not a healthy and safe person for her to be around."
According to the insider, Bynes and Michael were very "codependent on each other, and the latter part of their relationship was toxic due, in part, to the fact that they met in rehab." The former couple first engaged in February 2020 and split about three weeks later. Bynes later announced that she was pregnant, but her attorney confirmed this was false news.
