According to the Daily Mail, the restoration project, which the "Donda" crooner embarked on earlier this year, aimed to preserve the memories and legacy of his upbringing while paying homage to his beloved mother, Donda West, who died in 2007 from heart disease after undergoing plastic surgery.

The renovated home is a testament to West's roots and profound connection with his late mother. The gate, bearing the initials "DH," short for "Donda's House," is a poignant reminder of Donda's name and her guiding presence in West's life.

According to the news outlet, the 1,600 sq. ft home's makeover includes a new roof, a pair of wooden staircases at the entrance and the back end, and surveillance cameras on both sides of the building.

The home, which has three bedrooms and one bathroom, features an American flag with the caption "Long exterior" fixed to a window at the back and several tree stumps painted with red, yellow, and green Jamaican colors.

According to Daily Mail, local officials previously expressed concerns about the property becoming a haven for drug addicts.

Reports of suspicious activities and littering in the house raised alarms among authorities, leading to discussions about closing the home.

Through his charity Donda's House, West bought the property to convert it to a community arts "incubator" for at-risk youths, only to be met with opposition from authorities because it was abandoned.

However, they got permits that allowed the property to experience the complete facelift it now has.
