Father's Day is a day that is celebrated in many countries around the world, dedicated to honoring fathers and father figures. However, for Johnson, it is a bittersweet reminder of the unresolved issues he had with his father.
Johnson's father, Rocky Johnson, was also a professional wrestler and made a name for himself in the industry. Despite their shared passion for wrestling, their relationship was complicated, to say the least.
The "Fast Five" actor has been open about the difficulties he faced growing up, often describing his father as a tough and demanding figure who was absent for significant periods due to his wrestling career.
Johnson shared his feelings about Father's Day in a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday. He advised men who still have their fathers to count it a blessing; however, the actor pointed out that his experience was different as he never had the chance to reconcile with his father before he passed away.
Johnson sympathized with "all the fathers out there like me, who on this day, we don't have the privilege anymore of wishing our own dads a happy Father's Day" because of the "tough love and complicated relationship with our fathers."
'Do Your Best To Reconcile'
Johnson's personal experience with his father gave him a unique perspective on the importance of addressing and resolving complicated relationships.
In his Father's Day Instagram post, he offered advice to those who may find themselves in similar situations, urging them to "try and reconcile that stuff, try and bring it back together."
"Do your best to reconcile because the alternative is something could happen, and all of a sudden you're writing the eulogy for your dad's funeral, like I found myself," the "Jumanji" actor said.
"I woke up one day, and he was gone, and I had to write that eulogy and deliver it. I don't want that for you guys." He added, "If you have an opportunity, if your old man is around and you do have a shot to reconcile it."

Despite the pain and complexities surrounding Father's Day for the "Black Adam" actor, he also took the opportunity to share a heartwarming glimpse into his role as a father.
To focus on the positive aspects of the day, Johnson shared a touching moment of bonding with his daughter, showcasing the love and joy he experiences in his role as a dad.
He posted a video of himself with his youngest daughter capturing a tender father-daughter moment. The footage depicted him playing the role of a patient while his daughter, Tiana, played the doctor.
She could be seen sticking a rectal thermometer toy in Johnson's mouth to check his temperature as he tried to understand what she was doing.
"I know one day years from now, play dates with Daddy won't be cool anymore so I'll take every minute I can," he captioned the post, adding, "rectal thermometers and all."
