Shawn Mendes Was Dumped By Camila Cabello After Short Fling

Shawn Mendes is single again after his short reunion with ex-girlfriend Camila Cabello. She is the one who ditched him this time!

The "Stitches" singer is nursing another heartbreak after the second go-around with Cabello didn't work out. According to a few sources, Cabello pulled the plug on the romance only in its beginning stages.

"Camila was the one who ultimately decided to end things," a source told Us Weekly. And Mendes "is very upset" about the situation. The breakup is apparently because the couple crept back into their old ways.

"A lot of their old problems started returning after spending so much time together," alleges the source. The couple were initially "excited at the possibility" of getting back together.

Unfortunately, The pair got easily caught up in all the feels, leading them down a path that was ultimately not good for them. "It felt nostalgic, and all those initial feelings they had for each other when they first started dating came flooding back," says the source.

But it wasn't enough. "After a few months, they remembered why they split in the first place." They wised up and "realized they're better friends than romantic partners," another source chimes in. "There's no bad blood between them, but their relationship has just run its course."

The two have a long history and got close when due to the pandemic and spending a lot of time together.

And since then, they have been the hottest thing in town. The "Señorita" singers were popping up everywhere together and were on the verge of moving in with each other," a source told Us earlier this month; they were "spending every day they can together and traveling together."

This has old feelings "flooding back." Seeing as the couple has decided to call it off, it will be interesting to see who they move on to next after this prominent relationship in their lives. That being said, if Mendes is as broken up about it as some are claiming, then maybe dating won't happen to do quickly.

The singer has lined up a few gigs since his breakup, and one of them was over the weekend when he got on stage with Ed Sheeran during the UK artist's sold-out Toronto show. They performed two songs.

It was his first time on stage in a "year and a half" since canceling his hometown and returning home to Canada for a mental health break. He told the Wall Street Journal at the time of the cancellation.

"The process was complicated. A lot of doing therapy and trying to understand how I was feeling and what was making me feel that way. And then doing the work to help myself and heal." He continued. "And leaning on people in my life to help a little bit."
