Memories of Takeoff will continue to live on as Quavo and Offset celebrate his first heavenly birthday.
Barely a year ago, Takeoff, also known as Kirsnick Khari Ball, aged 28, tragically died in a shoot-out in Houston. Before Takeoff's death, he was a member of the hip-hop group Migos alongside Quavo and Offset. The trio also had a close relationship outside the rap group.
On June 18, the "Bad and Boujee" rapper would have turned 29 if he were alive. Quavo and Offset marked the special occasion with tear-jerking tributes and a birthday celebration.
Quavo And Offset Celebrates Takeoff On His First Posthumous Birthday
In honor of their late friend and colleague's birthday, the two Migos members sent out heartfelt tributes on Instagram. Quavo, on his part, shared an old video showing his late nephew keenly checking out a denim jacket and asking him for his opinion.
The 32-year-old rapper emotionally captioned the clip, "Happy Birthday @yrntakeoff can't wait for days like this again!!!BEST believe we goin up all week the Rocket way GEEKD you 29 n—-."
Offset also commemorated his dear friend's heavenly birthday with a heartwarming tribute, recalling the times he shared with his friend. The 8-slide post began with a picture of Takeoff giving the peace sign while he was on stage and continued to show up-close photos of the young star.
Additional photos on the carousel included a snap of Offset lying on a couch while his legs were on Takeoff's lap and another shot of the two musicians in a car. Offset emotionally expressed in the caption, "Happy birthday, rocket man. It the great to touch a mic! Best spirit ever! Purest man I know. Your heart was golden."
Shortly after sharing their tributes for their late friend, both Quavo and Offset were spotted having a birthday celebration for him. The two rappers, who formerly had a beef, were seen rocking similar shirts with Takeoff's face, seemingly quenching it for their late loved one.

The duo was joined by Takeoff's family and other loved ones as they lit up a floating lantern in memory of the rap star. A snapshot from the memorable event. They captured the sky filled with several floating lanterns for Takeoff.
While the Offset poured out his heart in the birthday tribute to his late friend, he previously opened up about how he's dealing with the grief of the loss in his first interview since Takeoff's passing.
Speaking on how difficult moving on from the loss is, the "Slippery" rapper said, "It's hard for me to talk about sh*t right now. I've never talked about this stuff. Seriously. Talking about taking is hard, man. Talking about all this sh*t is hard. That's why I don't, to be honest. That sh*t hurts."
He continued, "Some things I don't never tell anybody. He's not here. That shit feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it's fake. And I don't say nothing to nobody about it."
Late Takeoff's Alleged Killer Has Been Indicted For Murder
As Quavo and Offset continue to mourn and honor their late family member, they can find some comfort in the progress in prosecuting the late "Open It Up" rapper's alleged shooter Patrick Xavier Clark.

In Late May, it was reported that Clark had been indicted on murder charges by a Texas Grand Jury. Recall that in November 2022, Takeoff was tragically shot outside a bowling alley in Houston while hanging out with his colleague and uncle, Quavo.
The two artists were playing dice with some other people. During the game, an altercation ensued, and then a fight. The fight finally aggravated into a shooting in which a couple of bullets hit the 28-year-old songwriter.
Asides from the late 28-year-old, two other individuals around the alley were reportedly hit during the incident. However, Quavo, who was directly involved in the argument, suffered no harm during the shoot-out.
Clark was initially arrested in December after Houston PD accused him of firing the shots that killed Takeoff. The Coroner's report from Takeoff's autopsy showed that he was shot twice, in the head and torso. Later, the authorities confirmed that the rapper was an unarmed bystander who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Following his arrest, Clark was released from County jail in January after he posted a $1 million bond. The offender has requested a judge to pay $5000 for a private investigator for his defense in the trial. According to Clark, he couldn't afford to pay for the costs of a lawyer or investigator.
