Selena Gomez is turning to one of her greatest sources of comfort during her time of need, and is using music to help in her rehabilitation.

Sources connected to the singer tell The Blast in the weeks leading up to her hospitalization, Selena was solely focused on music and putting the finishing touches on her new album. Back in August, the star revealed to fans her album would be "coming out later," but did not reveal a title or official release date.

We're told the new record is deeply personal to Selena, and was inspired by the recent events in her life, including her life-saving kidney transplant. Even though Selena is in a mental health facility receiving treatment, we're told music is helping along with her recovery.

The day before news broke of Selena's hospitalization and treatment, her new video with DJ Snake and Cardi B, "Taki Taki," dropped. Both Cardi and Snake sent messages and prayers Wednesday night.

Selena, who has been MIA on social media since announcing she was taking a break, has yet to publicly comment on her treatment and recovery.
