Hilaria Baldwin, Wendell Pierce & More Pay Tribute To Treat Williams

Actor Treat Williams passed away due to a motorcycle accident in Vermont. The "Everwood" actor was 71.

"It is with great sadness that we report that our beloved Treat Williams has passed away tonight in Dorset, Vermont after a fatal motorcycle accident, As you can imagine, we are shocked and greatly bereaved at this time," his family wrote in a statement on Monday. "Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft. Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him."

Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and many others took to social media to pay tribute after his passing.

In her Instagram Stories, Hilaria shared a headline from People magazine that read “Treat Williams, Star of ‘Everwood’ and ‘Hair,’ Dead at 71 After Motorcycle Accident.”

Hilaria responded to his death, writing, “We feel sick… Our hearts are broken… rest in peace, dear friend. Pam..Gill, Elinor.. we send love.”

She then shared a photo of two of her sons hugging each other. “Life is short and precious and unpredictable,” she continued. “Grieving Treat and sending love to his family and all those who loved him.”

“What a force of kindness and light,” she added. “We honor you by holding our loved ones tight and living each day with gratitude and kindness.”

Actor Wendell Pierce tweeted, "Treat Williams was a passionate, adventurous, creative man. In a short period of time, he quickly befriended me & his adventurous spirit was infectious. We worked on just 1 film together but occasionally connected over the years. Kind and generous with advice and support. RIP."

Actor James Woods tweeted, "Treat and I spent months in Rome filming Once Upon a Time in America. It can be pretty lonely on the road during a long shoot, but his resilient good cheer and sense of humor was a Godsend. I really loved him and am devastated that he’s gone. #RIP #TreatWilliams."

Story and script writer Garrick Dion also shared praise for Treat's role in "Prince of the City," tweeting, "I loved Treat Williams.. I'm honestly shocked he's gone, as I was just thinking about him the other day... If you've never seen PRINCE OF THE CITY, please do so. It's such an incredibly naked, genuine, passionate performance. Exceptional work. Thank you, sir, and godspeed."

Director Ted Geoghegan tweeted, Always a friend of genre cinema, "Treat Williams was great in everything he did. From THE PHANTOM to DEAD HEAT, and the SUBSTITUTE sequels to my personal favorite, DEEP RISING, he was always a joy to watch. I’ll miss seeing him. RIP, good sir.."

Film critic Richard Roeper also shared a tweet including some of Treat's best-known roles, concluding, "Let the sunshine in and rest well, Treat Williams."
