The bond between them was evident to the "Underworld" star's Instagram followers, as she often shared heartwarming and hilarious moments with him on her page. Fans of the actress are now coming together to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time.

The 49-year-old took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of the death of her cat Clive, who held a special place in her heart. In the accompanying photo, she could be seen tenderly cuddling him in a pink blanket, peacefully resting beneath her chin. Through the caption, the mother-of-one conveyed her deep sorrow over the loss as she wrote

"Clive has died. I don't have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it. If anyone is expecting to hear from me, you may not for a bit, and I'm sorry. My heart is absolutely and totally broken. 2004-2023."

Following the announcement, the "Van Helsing" star received an outpouring of comfort and support from her celebrity friends, including Anya Taylor-Joy, who penned, "Kate? sending you love ♥️." 

"Confessions of a Shopaholic" star Isla Fisher chimed in with, "I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. He was such a special guy ❤️," while English actor, Sean Maguire, added, "So sorry, darling. I know the pain. Still not over losing my little guy. Sending you love. x."  

In addition to her famous friends, fans of both Beckinsale and Clive also shared their condolences, with one heartfelt message capturing the sentiment beautifully, "Feel so sorry for you. To lose a beloved friend is one of the hardest things in life. I have lost my Lucky 2018. keep the memory, and he will always be with you."

This person could not hold their emotion as they wrote, "Oh no! I'm sorry, so sorry!!! Sending love and prayers for a peaceful heart." Someone else mentioned how her "posts about him brought so much joy," adding, "His spirit will always live on! My deepest condolences, dear Kate. ??.”

Through the "Tiptoes" actress's Instagram page, her followers developed a deep affection for Clive, as she frequently delighted them by showcasing her furry companion dressed in various costumes, occasionally even coordinating outfits with the beloved star herself.

In an adorable moment, Beckinsale decided to liven up the situation when one of her cats appeared less than thrilled about sporting a fluffy pink sweater. She spontaneously broke into an impromptu dance to the tune of "Uptown Girl," aiming to uplift her feline companion, Willow. With a playful spirit, she humorously expressed in the caption:

"trying to hype Willow up about her winter woolly has been low yield so far."

'Much Ado About Nothing' Star Addresses Encounter With Catfishers 

In a shocking revelation, Beckinsale opened up about a harrowing experience with catfishers who preyed on several unsuspecting men, leading them to believe they were in a relationship with her during the lockdown. 

Adding to the bizarre nature of the situation, the scammers even went as far as creating fake social media profiles for her pet cat, Clive. The deceitful scammers invited the victims to her Los Angeles home, plunging both the actress and her then-boyfriend, Goody Grace, into a state of constant fear and apprehension.

The severity of the situation prompted the "Prince of Jutland" actress to make the difficult decision of moving houses to ensure her safety and peace of mind. Taking the opportunity to raise awareness about the perils of online catfishing, the "Enigma" actress warned her followers that if they receive messages claiming to be from her, it is a scam. 

Beckinsale urged her fans to be careful, writing, "It's NOT me, and you are being taken advantage of. Please report and block anyone doing this to you. Long story short, if you think I'm messaging you, it's not me." 

In addition, she made it clear that her assistant was not authorized to communicate with anyone on her behalf and emphasized the importance of caution in online interactions.
