Nick Cannon Shades 'Fat' 50 Cent
The controversy unfolded during an interview with 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, Vivica Fox, on his "The Daily Cannon" podcast, where Cannon made demeaning remarks about 50 Cent's appearance.
Fox recently teased that she may be open to welcoming a romance with the "In da Club" crooner after they briefly dated in the early 2000s.
"You can, like, fantasize about Fif from 15 years ago," said Cannon, adding that the old 50 is "different" to the "fat" 50 of today.
"He looks like he got a pack of hot dogs on the back of his neck," he added, per Insider.
Cannon's co-hosts Mason Moussette and Courtney Bee opposed his take by sharing that they still find 50 Cent attractive, prompting Cannon to reply to them, saying, "You looking at the pictures from 'Get Rich or Die Tryin,' now it gets thick or die fryin'."
Fans React To Nick Cannon's Comments
Cannon's comments swiftly spread across social media, igniting a backlash from fans and followers. Many expressed disappointment and frustration, condemning his insensitive remarks as body-shaming and harmful.
One fan wrote, "Nick Cannon is an omega-level hater, I swear to god." Another fan commented, "Hating on a man and being a chatty patty with women is nasty."
"Hahaha, he mad 50 roasted him for dissing Em with that weakness he showed, lol," a person wrote. "Nick, just cause he's black doesn't mean he will back you when you go against a white boy. Calling him fat doesn't change the fact 50 is 50, and you're just you."
One fan accused Cannon of using 50 Cent's popularity to "get some eyes" on his podcast, calling it a "smart move."
"Nick, I know you said all that with your chest cos you want 50 to respond and breath life into your new show," a fan said.
Nick Cannon Faced Backlash For Comments On Bianca Belair
Cannon previously found himself embroiled in controversy when he faced backlash from fans and critics alike for a crude and offensive joke targeting WWE superstar Bianca Belair.
The controversy unfolded during the May 25th "Wild 'N Out" episode, where Cannon engaged in a rap battle with the professional wrestler.
"There's a couple of guys who were up to no good; they are starting to make trouble in my neighborhood," Cannon began rapping.
"I got in one little fight; my mom got scared because I wanted to impregnate Bianca Belair," he concluded while standing close to the WWE Champion.
As news of his remarks hit social media, fans and wrestling enthusiasts quickly expressed disappointment and disgust. Many took to Twitter to voice their concerns and condemn Cannon's insensitivity, mainly because he said it before the wrestler's husband.
He Does Not Want His Kids To Become 'Nepo Babies'
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the "Masked Singer" host made a thought-provoking statement about his aspirations for his 11 children, expressing his desire for them to pursue non-entertainment careers to break away from the stereotype of being "nepo babies."
"Out of all my kids, I'm like, if they want to be in entertainment, that's fine, but that's almost easy," Cannon said. "I want you to do something challenging, go outside the box, so you can see effort, perseverance, and those things because they're a nepo baby. There are advantages to a kid. You're just like, 'Oh, this is natural.'"
Cannon, who has excelled in various entertainment fields, including music, television, and film, believes his children must forge their paths outside the show business.
He added, "That's why I love to see my kids try sports because it has nothing to do with anything. It is how much work you put in and how hard you go that you'll succeed in that space. They can learn all those cool principles by having fun with their friends."
